Introduction to History

History specializes in researching and discussing past issues, so that from past knowledge we can draw out necessary rules and lessons for present and future life.A historian is someone who studies past issues in order to understand and create past events, then analyze, evaluate and share the knowledge they have accumulated with the community. Historical research is a difficult and challenging job. Not everyone can become a historian without knowledge and passion. But when you become a good historian, you will have profound knowledge, reputation and be honored by the community. In 1956, the Faculty of History was established and was one of the first faculties of Hanoi National University, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Up to now, the Faculty of History has trained over 7,000 Bachelors, Masters and Doctors at home and abroad, of which more than 100 PhD students have successfully defended their PhD theses, nearly 300 Master's students have successfully defended their Master's theses. The faculty's training majors: Archaeology, Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History, Modern and Modern Vietnamese History, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, World History, Historical Theory, Anthropology, Cultural Studies.
