Attending the workshop were Dr. Trinh Ngoc Thach (Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children), Associate Professor Dr. Mai Ha (Deputy Head of Program KX.06-11-15, Director of the Department of International Relations, Ministry of Science and Technology) and scientists from VNU, Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology of some provinces.
The workshop is an activity within the framework of the State-level Project KX.06.06/11-15: “Research and analysis of the Vietnamese science, technology and innovation system in the trend of international science and technology integration” (under the State-level Key Science and Technology Program KX.06/11-15: “Research and Development of international integration in science and technology”) chaired by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and chaired by Dr. Dao Thanh Truong.
Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Project Manager) presented the introductory report at the seminar.
Project KX.06.06/11-15 was implemented to achieve a number of objectives: Identify the current national innovation system in Vietnam in the context of international S&T integration; Analyze the role of the S&T and innovation (STI) system in socio-economic development; Propose policy solutions to promote the Vietnamese S&T and innovation system to integrate with international S&T; Enhance the capacity of staff participating in research and analysis of Vietnam's innovation policy.
There were more than 20 presentations at 2 sessions: Overview of science, technology and innovation/creativity; Assessment of practical activities of science, technology and innovation/creativity in Vietnam in the trend of international science and technology integration.
At the workshop, delegates discussed and contributed ideas to the Project Management Board on many issues revolving around the main contents:
- Unify concepts and viewpoints on the STI system in the context of international science and technology integration.
- Theoretical approaches in STI system research.
- Evaluation of STI policy in Vietnam in the trend of international science and technology integration.
- STI system practices and STI promotion policies in some countries.
- Assess the role of STI systems and STI capacity in organizations for socio-economic development in the context of international integration.
- Developing science and technology human resources to serve Vietnam's STI system in the context of international science and technology integration.
