Student Scientific Conference on Intellectual Property

The conference took place on April 17, 2015, co-organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the National Office of Intellectual Property, in celebration of World Intellectual Property Day (April 26).

Student Scientific Conference on Intellectual Property

The conference was attended by students from 4 universities: University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), National Economics University, Hanoi Law University, Foreign Trade University.

Attending the conference were Dr. Le Ngoc Lam (Deputy Director of the Department of Intellectual Property), Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and many scientists, lecturers and students from universities in Hanoi.

There were 18 scientific reports by students published in this conference, addressing many issues and different theoretical and practical research areas of intellectual property.

The Organizing Committee awarded the following prizes:

- First Prize: Do Thuy Linh (Hanoi Law University) with the topic "Patent protection in the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and challenges for the Vietnamese pharmaceutical and medical industry".

- Second Prize: Bui Thi Nga, Ngo Thi Thao Nguyen (National Economics University) with the topic "Trademark protection in Vietnam from the practical perspective of the "Xuan Lan 727" and "Mi Hong" cases".

- Third Prize:

+ Nguyen Thai Binh (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) with the topic "Improving the system of legal documents on aspects of intellectual property rights in the publishing field to improve the effectiveness of copyright protection in Vietnam today".

+ Ho Thi Anh Tuyet, Phan Hai Yen (Foreign Trade University) with the topic "Commercializing inventions according to the Teece model and some instructions for Vietnamese enterprises".

The conference is an annual activity to create a scientific playground connecting scientists, practitioners, lecturers and students interested in the field of intellectual property. This activity also contributes to promoting research activities associated with training and social practice, while expanding scientific exchanges between students and lecturers of universities in Hanoi.
