Training and research cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the International University, Kyung Hee University, Korea

On August 28, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, with the participation of Dr. Pham Hoang Hung - Head of Cooperation and Development Department, Dr. Luu Tuan Anh - Head of Korean Department, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam - Head of Vietnamese Studies and Language Department had a working session with representatives of the International University, Kyung Hee University on the basis of increasing student exchange opportunities between the schools.

On the partner side, there were Dr. Yoochul Lee - Director of KIC-HSE Dual Degree Program, Kyung Hee University and Ms. Kyungah Suh - Head of Administration, Faculty of International Studies, Kyung Hee University.
At the meeting, Vice President Dang Thi Thu Huong shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the leading training institution in the country in the fields of social sciences and humanities. The multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary nature of the University in training is demonstrated throughout the bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. In particular, the Department of Korean Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is one of the first units in the country to organize training and research in Korean Studies. Emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation with international educational and research organizations, Vice President Dang Thi Thu Huong welcomed the goodwill of the International University, Kyung Hee University, towards building a foundation for effective and long-term cooperation.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam - Head of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language discussed cooperation in teaching and organizing Vietnamese language exams.
According to Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language is the largest and highest quality training facility in Vietnam for foreigners who want to learn Vietnamese and learn about Vietnamese culture. The Faculty is a pioneer in establishing a framework for teaching Vietnamese for foreigners, and is one of the leading units in the country licensed to organize Vietnamese language certification exams at 6 levels. Accordingly, supporting teaching in both direct and online methods will create conditions for Korean students who want to learn Vietnamese and Vietnamese culture anytime, anywhere.

Dr. Luu Tuan Anh - Head of Korean Studies Department discussed interdisciplinary training between the two schools.
According to Dr. Luu Tuan Anh, as an academic institution with extensive experience in student and faculty exchange, USSH – VNU is always ready to welcome Korean students to study and research in Vietnam, participate in short-term courses, create conditions for cultural exchange and interaction between students of the two schools in particular and Vietnam – Korea in general. In addition, the two sides should aim to strengthen cooperation in the fields of training, research and offer short-term training courses, creating conditions for students of the two schools to have the opportunity to exchange and experience the culture of the two countries in the most complete way.
