Success after success: Students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities won high prizes in the High School Olympic competition

This is the first competition organized by the National University to encourage and motivate teachers and students to promote their creativity, teach well, and study well; create opportunities to compete and learn to improve the quality of teaching at the high school level; and at the same time discover students with aptitude for the subject to create a source of training. Participating in the competition are not only students from the Specialized Schools of the National University of Hanoi but also high school students nationwide.

The School of Social Sciences and Humanities has 120 students participating in 4 teams and has had48 students won prizes(3 First prizes, 10 Second prizes, 14 Third prizes and 21 Consolation prizes). In which, the History team leads with 16 prizes: 1 First, 5 Second, 3 Third, 7 Consolation (KK); the Literature team with 14 prizes: 2 First, 3 Second, 6 Third and 3 KK; the Geography team has 11 prizes: 2 Second, 3 Third and 6 KK, the English team has 7 prizes: 2 Third, 5 KK.

Notably, among the 48 students who won the prize, nearly half were 10th graders and many of them participated in both the school's Olympic and National Excellent Student teams at the same time and achieved high results, such as: Vu Ngoc Dan Linh (10th grader) won the first prize in the Literature Olympic; Nguyen Ngoc Linh (won the second prize in the National Excellent Student Competition and the first prize in the Literature Olympic); Nguyen Phuong Uyen (won the second prize in the National Excellent Student Competition and the second prize in the Literature Olympic); Bui The Vinh (won the third prize in the National Excellent Student Competition and the first prize in the History Olympic); Le Hoai Nam (won the second prize in the National Excellent Student Competition and the KK prize in the History Olympic);...

To achieve the above successes, first of all, we must mention the efforts and wholehearted attempts of the students. As Le Hoai Nam, a student of the History Specialized Class K1, shared:First of all, to have this success, we are very grateful to the teachers who have always accompanied us to help us gain extensive knowledge and new passion in the field we have chosen. Although there aredifficulties due to covid epidemic,review timemequite short andtake multiple exams at the same time,but ialways tell yourself you need to win over yourself andtry your best to bring glory to yourself, your family and your school. In addition, one of the decisive factors for the success of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities in the recent exams is the active contribution of the staff and teachers of the School with extensive experience and passion for their profession, love for their job, and love for people. Especially the teachers who directly guide and train with the students, the teachers have always been by their side, encouraged, motivated and have the best methods to help the students review effectively and achieve many successes in the exams.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Principal of the school) expressed his joy and pride in the achievements of the school's students in the recent National Excellent Student and Olympic competitions. He said: The school's students are always well-rounded students and the school has selected the most outstanding students to participate in the teams. Not to disappoint teachers and families, the students have surpassed themselves to assert themselves and continue to write golden pages of history for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities. Although it has only been established for 2 years, with the achievements it has achieved, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities will certainly be an ideal destination for students who have love and passion for conquering the treasure trove of knowledge in these subjects.

Students who win First, Second, and Third prizes in the National and Olympic competitions will be directly admitted to university-level training programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (after graduating from high school and having 3 years of good conduct).

At the Specialized High School, in addition to the stressful study hours, students actively participate in many extracurricular activities. As shared by many students, in addition to the secret of studying seriously and setting clear goals, actively participating in many useful playgrounds organized by the school has added a lot of excitement and motivation to help them achieve many successes.
