On April 12, 2014, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Aeon scholarship award ceremony for the 2014-2015 academic year. Attending were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Mr. Hiroshi Yokoo (CEO of Aeon Group) and Mr. Ishikawa Tadahiko (Chief Representative of Aeon Vietnam).

On behalf of the school's leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim expressed his gratitude to Aeon Group for choosing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to award scholarships to the school's students to encourage them in their studies and training. The Vice President said that this is an action that demonstrates the Group's business philosophy of focusing on people, taking education as one of the priorities to achieve this goal. The Vice President also said that this activity is even more meaningful in the context of the Vietnam - Japan cooperation relationship having good results; the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is also on the way to internationalize its fields of operation, in which one of the priority directions is training and research in Japanese studies.

Next, Mr. Hiroshi Yokoo gave a speech affirming the Group's goal of helping students with difficult circumstances but always striving to assert themselves in their studies. Currently, Vietnam is playing an increasingly important role in the ASEAN region and the investment in Vietnam marks a major turning point in the process of building and developing the Aeon Group. With the above orientation, this is the third year that the Aeon Group has implemented the plan to plant forests, grant scholarships and build schools in Vietnam. Aeon hopes that by granting scholarships to students, it will support more scientific research activities and exchange of Vietnamese students, thereby further strengthening the friendly relationship between the two countries.

In the 2014-2015 school year, 30 students received Aoeon scholarships from 16 affiliated departments and faculties.
