The lecturers appointed to the title of Professor are Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Board of Directors, Professor of Vietnamese History); 04 lecturers appointed to the title of Associate Professor are: Dr. Pham Hong Long (Faculty of Tourism Studies, Associate Professor of Tourism), Dr. Bui Chi Trung (Institute of Journalism and Communication, Associate Professor of Journalism), Dr. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan (Faculty of Sociology, Associate Professor of Social Work), Dr. Pham Van Thuy (Faculty of History, Associate Professor of History). With this new appointment, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 13 Professors and 93 Associate Professors.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan (Faculty of Sociology) received the decision to appoint Associate Professor.
Rector Pham Quang Minh congratulated the newly appointed professors and associate professors and emphasized that this is a common joy and pride for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In 2019, the selection and appointment of these titles were carried out by the State Council for Professor Titles according to new, higher regulations and standards, especially the standards on the number of scientific works published in international journals with high impact factors such as ISI/Scopus. The lecturers appointed this time are all well-trained at major universities around the world; have quality international publications, convincing the councils for professor titles at all levels. This result has contributed to improving the quality of the teaching staff, affirming the leading position and prestige of the University's scientific human resources.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Hong Long (Faculty of Tourism) received the decision to appoint Associate Professor
The Rector assigned the new Professors and Associate Professors to actively and responsibly participate in the process of building the University into an advanced research university; improve the quality of training activities, innovate teaching activities; open up new research directions and inspire research, creativity and training for the young staff, students and trainees of the University.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Thuy (Faculty of History) received the decision to appoint Associate Professor
On behalf of the new Professors/Associate Professors, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan shared the honor of receiving the above appointment decision, considering this an opportunity for the teachers to prove their abilities, accept many new challenges in their careers and work; constantly strive to continue the tradition and achievements of the team of scientists and teachers who came before; contribute to fostering and building a university environment rich in academics and humanity.

Rector Pham Quang Minh also presented to Prof. Dr. Hoang Khac Nam, Head of the Faculty of International Studies - the Decision on recognition of educational quality standards and the Certificate of educational quality assessment for the undergraduate training program in International Studies, issued by the Center for Educational Quality Assessment, VNU-HCM City. The International Studies training program was assessed by the External Assessment Team according to the quality assessment standards of the Ministry of Education and Training in April 2019, and is the third training program of the University to be recognized as meeting the quality assessment standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (after the Vietnamese Studies training program and the Psychology training program).
Also at the meeting, the University announced the decision to establish a Steering Committee for the prevention and control of acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus (nCoV) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Accordingly, the Head of the Steering Committee is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa - Vice Principal of the University. The Steering Committee is responsible for regularly and promptly grasping the direction of the Central Government, the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi City; directing, operating, and coordinating with relevant agencies and units in the work of preventing and controlling acute respiratory infections caused by the new strain of Corona virus.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Khac Nam, Head of the Faculty of International Studies, on behalf of the Faculty, received the Decision on recognition of meeting educational quality standards and the Certificate of educational quality assessment for the undergraduate training program in International Studies.
