Faced with the complicated developments of the pneumonia epidemic caused by the new strain of Corona virus (2019-nCoV), on the afternoon of January 31, Hanoi National University convened an urgent meeting on responding to the respiratory disease caused by the 2019 Corona virus (nCoV), chaired by Director Nguyen Kim Son.
With the highest goal of preventing the outbreak and spread of the disease, which could affect the health of students and staff, Hanoi National University has officially decided to give students, undergraduates, and postgraduates 10 days off from school, from February 1 to February 9, 2020.
At the same time, it is recommended that affiliated units limit organizing conferences, seminars, and large gatherings during this time, and maintain personal hygiene and the working environment.
VNU-Hanoi has established a Steering Committee to respond to the nCoV 2029 epidemic, headed by Vice President Nguyen Hoang Hai. At the same time, it has announced a hotline (0913057611) to receive information related to the epidemic.
VNU also assigned the Student Support Center and VNU Hospital to coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Health to carry out epidemiological sanitation work at schools and dormitories and provide instructions on epidemic prevention for staff, students, trainees and people - where VNU units are located.
Immediately after that, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi announced that students and postgraduates would be off school due to the Corona virus epidemic until February 9, 2020.
During the school break, students should stay in their locality/place of residence, limit travel and contact with crowded places, regularly update school announcements and take epidemic prevention measures according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.
On the evening of January 31, informing Kinh te & Do thi newspaper about the number of Chinese students studying at the school, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities said: "Nearly 400 Chinese students who have returned home for Tet have been notified by the school to stay in China until March 2, 2020. By the end of February, based on the epidemic situation, the school will notify Chinese students of the plan."
