On December 17, 2018, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to honor outstanding young faces of 2018.

This year, among the 175 outstanding young faces of the University that were honored, there were 151 students, 22 young staff and 02 PhD students. Among them, 08 students and 01 young staff were recognized as Outstanding Young Faces of VNU and 01 student was awarded a certificate of merit by the President of VNU.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the School) praised the contributions of outstanding young faces to the development of the School.

In the report on the achievements of students and young staff of the School in general and the Outstanding Young Faces of the School in particular achieved in the 2017-2018 school year, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Student Affairs Department) reported the following figures: The School awarded graduation certificates to 1,437 full-time students, of which excellent graduates accounted for 1.68%, good students accounted for 51.11%, and good students accounted for 45.38%. Outstanding student faces who excelled in their studies and training include: Nguyen Thi Lien (Class 60, Faculty of Oriental Studies) with an average score of 3.95; Pham Kim Anh (Class 60, Sociology) with an average score of 3.95; Nguyen Quang Ngoc (Class 60, Psychology) with 3.89 points; Pham Thi Van Anh (Class 60, Library Information) with 3.89 points; Can Thi Huyen (K60 Literature) scored 3.85... The school awarded certificates of merit to 90 students with good and excellent academic results, 87 students who are senior cadres and union cadres with achievements in work, 71 students with difficult circumstances who strived to study well. 15/81 young cadres achieved the title of grassroots emulation fighters.

Regarding scientific research achievements, 08 student scientific research projects won prizes at VNU level, 04 projects won prizes at the Ministry level. In the 2017-2018 school year, 874 students received scholarships to encourage learning and social support; 252 students received scholarships from organizations inside and outside the school.

For young cadres, most of them hold multiple jobs at the same time, both professional work and union and government work. However, there are many examples of teachers who not only teach well but also have many works published in domestic and foreign journals, completing the academic standards for lecturers.

Sharing at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh said that it is the young faces who are typical and have achieved many good results in studying, scientific research, teaching and training that have contributed significantly to the overall achievements of the whole school, especially contributing to the orientation of building the school into an advanced research university, integrating with the region and the world. The Rector also encouraged and motivated the young people to always maintain their passion and enthusiasm in life, to be themselves and to constantly strive.
