Scientific conference for young cadres and university students in 2018

On December 13, 2018, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized the “2018 Scientific Conference for Young Staff and Postgraduate Students”. This is the 7th time the conference has been held by the University.

This year’s scientific conference received 39 scientific reports, including 13 reports from young cadres, 05 reports from graduate students and 21 reports from doctoral students. The reports covered a wide range of fields from literature, sociology to psychology, philosophy and international relations.

The conference was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Principal of the School) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thu Ha (Faculty of Oriental Studies).

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim emphasized that the conference is a very important activity. This is an opportunity for young cadres, graduate students, and researchers to share specialized and interdisciplinary research results, and to develop new perspectives and research methods. In addition, this is also an opportunity to share thoughts and feelings among colleagues on the journey of scientific exploration and discovery.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim delivered the opening speech at the conference.

On the occasion of the conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim also reviewed the achievements and scientific research results that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has achieved in the past 3 years. In 2016, the University had 42 international publications, including 05 works in high-impact journals; in 2018, this number increased to 80, including 22 works in ISI and Scopus scientific journals. What is special is that young lecturers and staff are increasingly actively and enthusiastically participating in international publications.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim expressed his strong belief in the young staff, who have the ability and tradition of international publication. The Vice President considers this as the core force, contributing to spreading the values ​​and scientific reputation of a leading academic center like the University, as well as promoting the richness and diversity of the country's academics in general.

At the conference, 09 reports were presented live:

  • “Ho Chi Minh and the planning and implementation of diplomatic methods with France in the years 1945-1946: Approaching the perspective of political science” by Master. Nguyen Thanh Tung (Faculty of Political Science).

  • “Security for the East Sea: An analysis of the approaches of China and the United States in the period 2006-2009” by HVCH. Nguyen Van Trung (Faculty of Political Science).

  • “Principles, results and impacts of India's foreign policy towards Southeast Asia in the period 1947-1964” by MSc. Phung Thi Thao (Faculty of Oriental Studies).

  • “The value system of youth and its relationship with the level of implementation of pro-social behavior” by PhD student Nguyen Tuan Anh (Faculty of Psychology).

  • “Women’s livelihood assets in areas of agricultural land use conversion” (case study in Dong Anh district, Hanoi city) by PhD student Nguyen Thi Thu Huong (Faculty of Sociology).

  • “Stereoscopic perspective in the narrative method of war without a woman's face by Svetlena Alexievich” by PhD student Nguyen Trong Truong (Faculty of Literature).

  • “Bui Anh Tan’s prose and diverse experiments in reflecting LGBT images” by PhD student Le Thi Thuy (Faculty of Literature).

  • “The method of interpreting the Spring and Autumn Annals of Ngo Thi Nham in the Spring and Autumn Annals” by Master. Le Phuong Duy (Faculty of Literature).

  • “Women’s social capital in the consumption of handicraft products in some traditional craft villages in the Red River Delta” by PhD student Phan Thi Thu Ha (Faculty of Sociology).
