The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is enrolling students for a short-term training course "Journalism Writing Skills" (advanced) with a certificate granted by the University, starting in 2011.- Target: reporters, editors at news agencies, newspapers, and media. Students who have graduated or are studying at universities and colleges in social sciences and humanities, who want to improve their journalism and media skills. - Objective: At the end of the course, students need to master the basic and specialized professional skills of journalism, from collecting, processing and presenting information in the press. Master the skills to perform some typical journalism genres such as news, interviews, reports and portrait techniques. At the same time, have skills in interviewing and gathering news. Students understand the legal regulations of Vietnamese journalism to be able to work and handle journalism situations, and have knowledge about the development of print media as well as career opportunities in this field. At the end of the course, students will master modern journalism skills, be able to organize and edit journalism products at a high level. - Training program Students will learn the following topics: + Communication and basic issues of modern communication + Thinking about journalistic topics + Collecting, processing information and modern journalistic writing skills + Journalistic interview skills (advanced) + Processing information for genres of reportage journalism, portrait journalism + Organizing articles: headlines, leading titles, sub-headlines, sapo, data boxes... + Development trends of journalistic genres + Advanced editing skills - Study time: 8 weeks - Lecturers: are experienced lecturers, professionally and systematically trained in journalism and communication in advanced countries in the world such as Korea, England, Russia of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and experienced journalists, currently working at central newspapers and Hanoi. - Tuition fee: students outside the school: 2,700,000 VND, students and alumni of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with degrees granted by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities): 2,200,000 VND - Deadline for application submission: April 20, 2011
