Over more than half a century, the training program of the Faculty of History started from 3 years, changed to 4 years, then 4 and a half years, and continued to change to 4 years, has trained nearly 8,000 bachelors, nearly 1,000 masters and more than 200 doctors. Graduates of the Faculty of History are present all over the country, taking on many fields of work. In any position, the bachelors, masters and doctors of the Faculty of History have demonstrated their capacity and qualities, and excellently completed their tasks. Many have held and are holding key positions in the Central and local levels, in Party and government agencies, training and scientific research agencies.
Typical extracurricular activities
- 15-day archaeological internship: first year students.
- Fieldwork at historical and cultural relics and traditional craft villages: first to third year students.
- Graduation internship: fourth year students.
- Study science at museums: Museum of Anthropology of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, National Museum of History, Museum of Ethnology, Museum of Military History, Museum of Fine Arts...

Possible job positions after graduation
Graduates of the Faculty of History will become historians, archaeologists, researchers and cultural managers... who can undertake research work at institutes, research centers, state agencies, and social organizations with professional requirements directly related to historical and cultural knowledge; teach history and cultural studies at universities, colleges, and high schools; manage historical documents, manage museums and historical sites; do historical and cultural work at state agencies and social organizations; and work related to various issues in the social sciences and humanities.
