During its operation, the Institute of Policy and Management always aims to become a national key research and training center on policy and management; to integrate, develop, reach international standards, and contribute to the development of policy and management science in Vietnam.

Field of research

  • Since 2010, the Institute has completed 05 State-level projects, 03 ministerial-level projects, 10 grassroots-level projects and nearly 15 international projects in the fields of science and technology policy and innovation, regional development policy, social mobility management policy of science and technology human resources, application of ecological technology in agricultural production...
  • Published more than 15 monographs, consulted and provided reports and documents on policy science, identified paradoxes in science and education policies, evaluated regional development policies, national innovation systems, social mobility management policies of science and technology human resources in the context of integration... and collaborated on publishing with international organizations. Of which, 02 monographs onAnalytical and policy planning skills(2011) andPolicy Evaluation Skills(2017) is published at the request of the Office of the National Assembly and agencies under the National Assembly, to provide to National Assembly deputies.
  • Formed a strong Research Group on Policy and Management Research that has been active and received a Certificate of Merit from the Director of VNU (2015).

Fieldtrain    

  • The Institute has successfully organized more than 40 training courses on "Policy analysis and planning skills at localities" and annual training courses on "Policy analysis, planning and appraisal skills for officials of the National Assembly office and grassroots policy makers"; training courses to improve leadership and management capacity for leaders and experts of localities (Ly Son island district, Gia Lam district...) and business leaders (in cooperation with VCCI).
  • In collaboration with experts from the Rosa Luxemburg Institute, 03 training courses (TOT) were organized for lecturers on "Policy teaching skills for grassroots policy makers".
  • Cooperate with domestic and foreign partners to open short-term courses, training courses, and exchange experiences in management, policy research, policy planning, and policy decision making.
  • Currently coordinating with the Faculty of Management Science to implement the Bachelor and Master of Public Policy training program.

The Institute promotes cooperation and association with domestic and international organizations.

  • Typical domestic partners include: Ministry of Science and Technology, Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children of the National Assembly, Institute for Legislative Studies (under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
  • Foreign partners such as Rosa Luxemburg Institute - Germany, Lund University (Sweden), Potsdam University, Greifwald University, Munich University (Germany), Helmholtz-Center for Environmental Research (UFZ)...
