Overview of the July meeting of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Principal of the School) chaired the Conference
The conference listened to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam present some results achieved in June training, emphasizing enrollment and adjustment of training programs.
The school has successfully organized the entrance exam for grade 10 of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities; completed the first round of the entrance exam for master's and doctoral degrees in 2023; received over 2,800 applications for direct admission to regular universities in 2023.
The acceptance of the training programs adjusted according to the new regulations of Hanoi National University is being carried out very urgently and seriously. In this adjustment, many master's training programs have been integrated to facilitate enrollment and training, maximizing the resources of the unit. Up to now, the adjustment of training programs has been basically completed on schedule and the training units are editing and perfecting according to the comments of the Acceptance Council before submitting to Hanoi National University.
The work of supporting and facilitating students to complete foreign language output standards in time for graduation has been given special attention and achieved good results. However, in the coming time, it is still necessary to have stronger cooperation from training units, functional departments, Youth Union, Student Association so that 100% of students studying at the school can complete the graduation program.
Representatives of units participating in the Conference raised many opinions, including some concerns related to the time of applying the training program after adjusting according to the new Regulations of Hanoi National University.
Associate Professor, Dr. Trinh Thi Linh (Head of the Department of Psychology) shared: Currently, graduate students of the 2022 course have basically completed the training modules and topics, but the adjusted training program with the addition of a number of new modules and immediate application to the 2022 course is unreasonable, which may affect the training progress of students. Therefore, the department proposed that the School should recommend to VNU to start applying the new training program from the 2023 course onwards.

The key task next month is to do a good job of recruiting regular university students, both ensuring enough quotas and increasing input quality; graduate school recruitment needs stronger communication to attract a large number of candidates to participate in the selection process.
Regarding the opinions of the leaders of the units, Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong fully shares the difficulties in postgraduate training due to the adjustments to the training program in the past time. The School Board of Directors understands the opinions of the leaders of the units and will make recommendations to Hanoi National University to consider and adjust the time to apply the new training program more appropriately.
However, while waiting for an official decision from VNU, with additional courses, training units need to be proactive and flexible in their organization, promote blended learning methods, and create conditions for maximum support for learners.
In addition, the content of additional courses on an overview of the research situation or how to write a scientific article is also very supportive for learners when writing their thesis or graduation dissertation.
Vice Principal Dao Thanh Truong shared information about the working plan with Pher Foundation experts on the Ethics Council and the implementation of summer courses in July and August.
Vice Principal Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized some key contents of administrative and general work in July.
