Closing ceremony of the 322nd AUN-QA external assessment at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

Attending the closing ceremony were all members of the AUN-QA External Assessment Team led by Mr. Prem Anand M Arjunan; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai (Vice President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi); leaders of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and a number of centers, institutes, and agencies under Vietnam National University, Hanoi; representatives of the Board of Directors of the schools, along with leaders, lecturers, and students of the Faculties whose training programs were assessed this time.
The four training programs participating in this assessment include: Bachelor's program in Anthropology (Faculty of Anthropology) of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Bachelor's program in Mathematics and Information Technology (Faculty of Mathematics - Mechanics - Information Technology) and Master's program in Hydrology (Faculty of Hydrometeorology and Oceanography) of the University of Natural Sciences; Master's program in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure (Faculty of Criminal Justice) of the University of Law.
At the Closing Ceremony, members of the AUN-QA Evaluation Team presented the preliminary results of the accreditation of the training programs, highly appreciating the general strengths of the training programs and the results achieved in terms of: training program content, teaching and learning methods, testing, student assessment, scientific staff, student support services, infrastructure and facilities, employment after graduation, thereby assessing the conditions for ensuring the quality of the training programs according to the AUN-QA assessment scale.

The Bachelor of Anthropology program of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has received high praise for its strengths and achievements: highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff; diverse and rich facilities and teaching materials; effective student support activities,... especially the Museum of Anthropology is a "laboratory", a very intuitive and vivid exhibition space.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, Mr. Prem Anand M Arjunan – Head of the AUN-QA Evaluation Team thanked VNU for its warm welcome and especially its trust in the AUN-QA quality assessment system. Mr. Prem Anand M Arjunan also expressed his hope that this evaluation will contribute to improving the quality of training programs and promoting the development of close cooperation between AUN and VNU.

Mr. Prem thanked VNU for the very effective and active coordination to make the direct accreditation program smooth and successful.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Vice President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi affirmed: The 322nd AUN-QA external assessment is an important event - when Vietnam National University, Hanoi is given the opportunity to demonstrate its continuous dedication to achieving excellence in higher education.

As a founding member of AUN, from the very beginning, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has been committed to promoting educational quality assurance. Over the past 30 years, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has participated in 15 thematic networks under AUN, of which it has participated in the AUN-QA network for nearly 20 years. To date, about 48 training programs at Vietnam National University, Hanoi have been accredited by AUN-QA, demonstrating the close relationship between AUN-QA and Vietnam National University, Hanoi. At the same time, to improve the quality of accreditation activities, Vice President Nguyen Hoang Hai expressed his hope that in the coming time, AUN will support the organization of training sessions to improve capacity on quality assurance and quality accreditation for units and staff in Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

At the closing ceremony, on behalf of the Board of Directors of VNU, Vice President Nguyen Hoang Hai highly appreciated the great efforts and active participation of member schools with accredited training programs, the Institute for Education Quality Assurance, VNU and related parties that have greatly contributed to the success of this accreditation round.

With the goal of becoming a research university on par with advanced research universities in the region, in recent times, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always been a pioneer in accreditation and improving training quality. Up to now, the University has had 8 training programs certified for accreditation according to AUN-QA standards, 01 training program has completed external assessment according to AUN-QA, 04 training programs have achieved ministerial-level assessment certification, 11 training programs have completed external assessment and are awaiting official results.
