Applying Gen AI to improve work efficiency and promote innovation at VNU-USSH

This is the goal of the course organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) in collaboration with Meta Group from February 17, 2025 to February 20, 2025, exclusively for administrative staff of the University. VNU-USSH is the first university in Vietnam to successfully implement systematic, in-depth training courses with certification on GEN AI for staff, lecturers and students.
The course attracted the participation of nearly 80 officers and specialists in charge of administrative work at all departments, training units, research units in the school and a number of lecturers and officers from several other universities in Hanoi.

The course is implemented in 9 sessions, including 8 face-to-face sessions, taking place at Room 708, Building E, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and 01 online expert support session with students to complete specific products for each individual. The course is accompanied by AI experts from VNU-USSH and prestigious universities, corporations, and businesses at home and abroad.

Previously, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with Meta Group successfully organized the first AI training course in Vietnam, completely free of charge for lecturers and students.

There have been 3 courses for lecturers of VNU-USSH and 01 course for lecturers of other universities in VNU. Nearly 180 lecturers have completed the course with excellent learning results and can immediately apply the knowledge and skills of the course to their work to create breakthroughs in teaching and research.

In addition, VNU-USSH also organized 15 classes for students, with nearly 600 students from the first to fourth year of all majors of the University registering to participate. By the end of January 2024, 6 classes had successfully concluded, bringing unexpected results and positive feedback from students. All students who participated and completed the course received certificates from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Meta Group.

Revolving around the topic of GEN AI World and GEN AI applications in work and life, however, for each course, experts from VNU-USSH and Meta Group design and supplement diverse, topical, and relevant content to meet practical work needs. For lecturers, the course focuses on equipping basic and fundamental knowledge to help lecturers keep up with technology trends, expand creativity and innovation in teaching, building digital lectures, classroom management, research and international publishing. Accompanying GenZ students, with the motto of helping them "Learn quickly, Understand deeply, Create to make a difference", experts delve into strategies to help students apply AI to optimize the learning process, improve results, enhance critical thinking and research capacity; build professional CVs, portfolios, and personal websites; Use GenAl to create creative videos and optimize support tools for each field; search for job information and create an impressive CV to conquer employers; and understand and apply responsibly and ethically.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Principal of the School) highly appreciated the enthusiastic, serious and effective learning spirit of the students; at the same time, expressed his hope that the knowledge and skills equipped will be applied most effectively by teachers and students to improve the quality of work, contributing to the overall development of the School.

Along with training courses for lecturers and students, the GEN AI course for administrative staff is one of the important steps demonstrating VNU-USSH's determination to build a professional, modern and effective administration and management system, demonstrating the pioneering role in digital transformation and application of information technology in training and research activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
According to the exchange from Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Hung (Head of Information - Library Department, Co-Director of the Project to Enhance the Application of GEN AI for Lecturers and Students), in the coming time, with the support from the School Board of Directors, as well as the companionship of Meta Group, the group of experts will research to be able to continue to deploy a number of in-depth training courses on GEN application in each specific field: quality assessment, management and care of learners, scientific research management, digital communication, ...
