Dau Pagoda in Gia Phuc village, Nguyen Trai commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi is a "famous ancient temple" with a long history and is famous in Son Nam town. Through the historical periods from Tran, Le, Mac and especially Le Trung Hung, Dau Pagoda has become a pagoda associated with the Le royal family, with the Trinh lord's palace in Thang Long capital.
Therefore, the pagoda not only possesses traditional Vietnamese architecture and visual arts, but is also the place of practice of two Zen masters named Vu, Khac Minh (Dao Chan) and Khac Truong (Dao Tam). After the two Zen masters named Vu passed away, they left behind their “flesh bodies” or “whole body relics” - a particularly important mark in the process of practicing and attaining enlightenment.
With the aim of contributing to clarifying the position and role of Dau Pagoda in the historical and cultural flow of Vietnamese Buddhism in particular, and of the Vietnamese people in general as an important religious and spiritual center; more fully understanding the life and deeds of the two Zen masters who attained enlightenment and left behind a great legacy of two flesh statues - National Treasures of Vietnam, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi chaired and coordinated with Dau Pagoda (Thanh Dao Tu) to organize the Scientific Workshop: "Dau Pagoda (Thanh Dao Tu) and the imprint of two Zen masters of the Vu family in the historical and cultural flow of the nation".
