The seminar aims to equip students, postgraduates and young lecturers with the necessary knowledge and skills in the process of conducting research and publishing scientific articles in prestigious specialized journals, contributing to improving the quality of training and scientific research at the School.
In his opening speech, the representative of the Faculty of Linguistics emphasized: “Publishing scientific articles is not only a mandatory requirement in the postgraduate training process, but also an opportunity for students and postgraduates to affirm their research capacity, expand academic connections and contribute to the overall development of the field of linguistics in particular and academic development in general, especially in the context of integration and internationalization of education today”.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh - Head of the Department of Linguistics delivered the opening speech.
At the seminar, the speakers, who are lecturers and researchers with extensive experience in scientific publication at home and abroad, shared many practical contents revolving around issues such as:
- Skills in choosing topics and building scientific article structures;
- Distinguish the requirements and presentation formats of domestic and international magazines;
- Experience in writing summaries, placing keywords and citing references properly;
- Process of submitting articles, handling comments and editing articles;
- Introduce the system of prestigious journals, indicators for evaluating the quality of scientific articles (ISSN, Scopus, WoS, etc.);
- Some notes on research ethics, avoiding plagiarism and duplicate publication.

In addition to the technical presentations, the seminar also devoted time to open discussion, creating conditions for participants to ask questions and share practical difficulties in the process of writing and submitting articles. The speakers answered in detail, creating a lively atmosphere and suggesting many interesting research directions. Many practical questions were raised and satisfactorily answered, demonstrating the deep interest and need for learning from students and young lecturers.
The seminar took place in a serious and open academic atmosphere, attracting the participation of a large number of graduate students, researchers and lecturers inside and outside the Faculty. This is a meaningful activity, contributing to improving the capacity of scientific publication and promoting the research culture in the academic community of the University.
