(GD&TĐ) Education in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland according to Ho Chi Minh's thought

On May 12, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Training and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) to organize the scientific conference "Uncle Ho with education, education with Uncle Ho".
Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son and experts and scientists.
The forum attracted many scientists
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) emphasized that the workshop aimed to affirm and deepen the ideological value and concern of President Ho Chi Minh for the cause of education in Vietnam.
This is an opportunity to review, research and discuss the core contents of Uncle Ho's letter to students and teachers 80 years ago, while emphasizing the important role of education in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology.
Through the Workshop, scientists, teachers, educational administrators and students continue to gain a deeper understanding of President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on education and training;
From there, apply it to teaching and learning practices, contributing to promoting the implementation of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training according to Conclusion 91-KL/TW of the Politburo dated August 12, 2024 on continuing to implement Resolution 29-NQ/TW of the 11th Party Central Committee, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission expressed that we are in the days of celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, along with many activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission acknowledged that the conference "Uncle Ho with Education, Education with Uncle Ho" is a scientific forum, attracting the attention of many experts and scientists, with more than 120 quality presentations collected in the proceedings.
Standing at the threshold of rising up to build a rich, prosperous, happy country, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers; Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia commented that this is one of the important visions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat on culture and people. In people, the decisive issue is education and training, to have a high-quality team to serve the country in the new era of development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, education and training have achieved many important achievements in the cause of improving people's knowledge, training human resources, and nurturing talents. Thereby, aiming to comprehensively develop Vietnamese people in terms of ethics, intelligence, creativity, aesthetics, physical strength, life skills, and professional skills.
At the same time, promote the spirit of self-study and lifelong learning so that each cadre, party member and citizen, especially the young generation, dares to think, dares to speak, dares to do, dares to take responsibility, and dares to sacrifice for the common good.
Tuesday, giving advice and proposing solutions to clear bottlenecks and solve the most critical issues in education and training, to advise and advise the Politburo to issue and effectively implement resolutions on breakthroughs in education and training development, creating a revolution in education and training development, bringing the country firmly into a new era.

Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu - Chairman of the Science and Training Council, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh's ideology on education goes beyond specific and practical instructions. Originating from the requirements of the country's life, his ideology is far-sighted, far-sighted, ahead of the times, premonitory and oriented to the future.
The new era places increasingly high demands on the education and training career in the spirit of Resolution 29 and Conclusion 91-KL/TW dated August 12, 2024 of the Politburo. To realize the Party's resolution, Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu said that, more than ever, it is necessary to thoroughly grasp, continue to apply, and creatively develop Ho Chi Minh's thought on a constructive, humane, and modern Vietnamese education.
First of all, it is necessary to orient education and training to directly and effectively serve the requirements of accelerated development and breakthroughs of the country in the new era. In addition, it is necessary to focus on improving the quality of education and training Vietnamese people to develop comprehensively, have qualities and capacities, and truly be the subjects creating the new era.
Along with that, speed up the process of modernization and internationalization of education and training; make Vietnamese education become an advanced education in the region and the world, making outstanding contributions to the global educational value system.

Pushing education to a new level of development
In the process of fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training in the new era, Professor Phung Huu Phu noted that it is necessary to keep in mind President Ho Chi Minh's advice in his last letter to the education sector on the occasion of the beginning of the school year (1968) - before he passed away: Education aims to train successors to the great revolutionary cause of the Party and the People;
Education is the cause of the masses, which needs to be fully promoted, socialist democracy; sectors, Party levels, and local authorities must truly pay more attention to this cause, must take care of schools in all aspects, and push our educational cause to new steps of development.

In his closing speech at the workshop, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that the education and training sector was honored to receive special attention from President Ho Chi Minh. Right after the declaration of independence, although there was no word that education and training was the top national policy, he actually had thoughts, policies and instructions that were even more than that for education and training.
The Minister acknowledged that the Conference heard quality and dedicated presentations, representing the feelings and intelligence of scientists, teachers, education managers, pupils and students.
The articles and opinions presented at the Workshop are quality articles, focusing on clarifying the purpose, content, motto, ideological values, and educational philosophy of President Ho Chi Minh;
At the same time, affirming the historical significance and practical value of President Ho Chi Minh's first letter to students and the education sector (September 1945 - September 2025); Affirming President Ho Chi Minh's core viewpoints and thoughts on the spirit of self-study and lifelong learning associated with the research, understanding and implementation of the direction of General Secretary To Lam in the article on Lifelong Learning;
The articles and comments are all aimed at implementing President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on education and training: Achievements, lessons learned and issues raised for the education sector over 80 years of formation and development associated with the country's innovation process;
Along with that is the proposal of breakthrough solutions in applying and creatively developing the content, ideological values ​​and philosophy of His Holiness on education and training associated with continuing to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training in the new era of development of the Vietnamese nation.
Through this workshop, the Minister recognized that the issues facing the education sector in the coming time were also more deeply recognized, including the need to continue to recognize and effectively implement a number of tasks:
