At the professional exchange session, speakers from Columbia University (USA) and the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities shared in-depth scientific information on research and training of Vietnamese in some countries such as the United States, Japan, and Korea. Accordingly, Vietnamese is the most spoken language in the top 5 languages in the United States, however, Vietnamese training in these countries has not yet fully exploited its potential and inherent appeal.
In countries such as Korea and Japan, Vietnamese is taught in many high schools and prestigious universities and is one of the languages chosen to be studied in parallel with English. The increasing demand for learning Vietnamese in many countries, especially for overseas Vietnamese, has created a large space for training and researching Vietnamese in the world.
