Faculty of Journalism and Communication - A quarter of a century journey
The purpose of the book is to summarize the research achievements over a quarter of a century, as well as update the latest research trends in the field of Journalism and Communication, thereby partly reproducing the research achievements in the general development of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
The publication covers everything from basic theoretical issues (public opinion, media research methods, Ho Chi Minh journalism, etc.) to the most “hot” practical issues (journalism ethics in the digital age, the 2025 press planning project, anti-corruption journalism, etc.); thereby providing readers with a comprehensive view of the important role of media journalism research not only in training journalists, interpreting phenomena, building theoretical systems, but also in journalism operations as well as macro management; especially in the context of the current Vietnamese press system facing many great opportunities and challenges.
Together with the previous nine volumes of “Journalism: Theoretical and Practical Issues”, this book demonstrates the Faculty of Journalism and Communication’s focus on media research, linking research with practical work and training activities. This motto has created the identity of the Faculty throughout its development.
This is a scientific product expressing the gratitude of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication to the regular and guest lecturers of the Faculty over the past time, who have continuously transferred their academic knowledge into lively and updated lectures. The success of generations of students in particular and of the Faculty in general is partly due to the elaborate, prestigious and effective academic research of the teachers.
At the same time, the book is also a special edition to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The Faculty of Journalism and Communication hopes to receive more comments and sharing from readers and colleagues so that this book can become a professional forum that is suggestive and oriented to continue improving the quality of journalism and communication research, continuing the research tradition over the past 25 years.
