Faculty of Journalism and Communication – A quarter century journey

In the fall of 2015, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, celebrated 25 years of establishment and development (1990-2015).

Over the past twenty-five years, many generations of teachers, staff and civil servants of the Faculty have devoted much time and effort, intelligence and enthusiasm, courage and talent to teaching, researching and training thousands of journalists for the country's press and media. Among them, many have grown up and achieved encouraging achievements. For the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, the success of our students and trainees is a great source of encouragement and pride for our Faculty and our School.

The book consists of more than 40 articles, organized into 3 parts in a coherent sequence:

Part one - '25 years of construction and development' - includes articles by leaders of the Party and State, the Vietnam Journalists Association, leaders of the School, and leaders of the Faculty, reviewing and evaluating the past quarter-century and pointing out the tasks and development directions of the Faculty in the new period.

The second part - '25 years of memories of teachers and students' - is the writings of teachers, generations of lecturers, students of all classes and systems, all looking back to the Faculty, recalling profound memories, words of gratitude, heartfelt stories from the first years of teaching, studying, and being attached to the roof of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication.

The third part, '25 years of teaching and practicing journalism', includes the teacher's sharing and reflections on journalism and teaching; lessons learned from working by representatives of alumni, who are also journalists who have been and are working in all parts of the country and abroad; notes and feelings of students studying at the Faculty about their career choices and the atmosphere of studying, scientific research, and vibrant practical activities at the Faculty.

Each page of the book has the contribution of the collective efforts of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, the regular and deep attention of leaders at all levels, and the enthusiastic contributions and support of students.

This is a meaningful gift to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi.
