New thinking, new way of doing

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a university training institution with a long tradition in the country. After 20 years of establishment and 70 years of tradition (1945-2015), the University has trained thousands of highly qualified cadres and experts, working in central and local agencies and organizations, enterprises... of the country. Many research works of scientists, lecturers and cadres have created a reputation, affirmed the position of the University, and at the same time contributed to providing scientific arguments for protecting national sovereignty, building strategies and policies for developing the economy - society, culture and people of Vietnam in the new context. Due to the above characteristics, the work of political and ideological education (GDCTTT) in the Party Committee of the University has always been of special importance.

In particular, since 2007, the School has implemented the credit training method, so the activities of the Youth Union - Student Association have changed a lot. Overcoming difficulties, the School Youth Union and Student Association always identify the work of political education, moral education for union members and students as one of the key activities, throughout each school year. With the mindset of constant innovation and creativity, combined with practical experience drawn from many years, the School Youth Union organizes many forms of activities suitable to the needs of young people, at the same time, thereby carrying out the key political task of studying well; training and striving well. Under the direction of the Party Committee, the School Youth Union always identifies the team of union and association officials at all levels as the core in listening, sharing, exchanging and orienting information. These union members are the best and most effective ambassadors of the School Youth Union in each class that the students participate in. Grasping the thoughts of such "public opinion groups" is also the basis for the School Youth Union to propose appropriate measures, conveying propaganda and information technology education content to students in the most attractive and effective way.

The Youth Union and Student Association skillfully combine the contents of “Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh” with directives and resolutions of the Party, the Youth Union, or propaganda contents into general activities, classroom contents, collective activities, community activities, activities between inter-branch unions, branches or twinning activities with local Youth Union organizations... Those contents aim to educate love for the country, awareness of territorial sovereignty, territorial waters and national independence; love for national cultural traditions and pride in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Leveraging the power of grassroots units

To attract students to collective activities, the Party Committee of the University has created a mechanism, encouraging the Youth Union and Association to build models of professional, cultural, and sports clubs... In recent years, in general, the clubs have developed strongly and promoted good efficiency. The 14 clubs currently organize regular activities and have achieved many outstanding results such as: Communication, cultural and historical propaganda, Vovinam Nhan Van, Bollywood dance, young writers, Student Teams mobilizing for humanitarian blood donation... In particular, volunteer activities have been oriented towards professionalism, truly attractive and convincing to union members and young people. Along with that, the volunteer activities of the University's youth have also achieved good results, causing resonance in the general movement of the Youth Union, Student Association of the National University and the Capital. Also from the Youth Union and Association movement, many students have been trained to be an important source for Party development work.

Thanks to the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the close coordination between trade unions, veterans' associations and the Youth Union - Association, the work of information and communication education has really gone into depth and promoted its strength. Among the members of the Hanoi National University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has become the address chosen by higher-level Party agencies and organizations to survey and summarize experiences in information and communication education work, especially in implementing policies and resolutions on science and technology, education and training... Those proactive and positive activities are important factors to soon bring the content and ideas of the Party's policies and resolutions as well as the policies and guidelines of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi National University and the education sector to cadres, civil servants, lecturers and students.
