Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh (Faculty of Sociology): Believe in the increasingly deep international integration of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

In fact, after completing his doctoral program at the Free University of Amsterdam (Netherlands) in 2010, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh returned to the University with the intention of making efforts to contribute to the internationalization of sociological teaching and research activities. In scientific research, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh has implemented many topics and projects in cooperation with scientists from many prestigious universities and research institutes around the world. As a result, many monographs and scientific articles have been published in which Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh is the author or co-author with international scientists and Vietnamese scientists. Among those works are articles published in the world's leading prestigious journals in the field of social sciences such as: The Journal of Peasant Studies, or The Journal of Development Studies.

In teaching, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh collaborates with scientists from famous universities around the world to teach Sociology students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh also teaches sociology in English for many international undergraduate classes within the framework of cooperation between Vietnamese universities such as Foreign Trade University, Foreign Language University of Vietnam National University, Hanoi with prestigious universities in Europe and the United States. Towards the 70th anniversary of the founding of the University of Literature - the predecessor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi today - Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh is full of confidence in the deep international integration of the Faculty of Sociology in particular and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in general.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Thu Huong (Faculty of Sociology): Scientific research helps us become more mature.

As one of the young associate professors of the school, Ms. Hoang Thu Huong has a rich list of achievements: Outstanding Young Face of Hanoi National University in 2013, Outstanding Young Intellectual of the Capital for the second time in 2011, Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training for the Student Scientific Research Award and Creative Youth Medal of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in 2000,... In 13 years as a lecturer of the school, she has guided nearly 30 students to successfully defend their graduation theses, 16 graduate students to successfully defend their master's theses and is currently co-guiding 3 doctoral students. In addition, she also actively participates in scientific research, presiding over and participating in many research topics and projects.

Since 2006, she has been leading 5 scientific research projects at all levels, from grassroots to state level, participating in the management of a number of research projects and being a social consultant for many foreign-funded development research projects implemented in Vietnam. Her achievements in scientific research activities have been demonstrated through 20 scientific articles published in domestic specialized scientific journals and at national and international scientific conferences along with 7 monographs (1 as author and 6 others as co-authors).

Having been attached to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for more than 17 years since she was a student, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Thu Huong has many special feelings for this school - where she studied, trained, matured and achieved success.The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a friendly school and always creates many opportunities for students to practice and develop both knowledge and soft skills. Humanities students are now very dynamic, for example, Sociology students have many conditions to develop their abilities comprehensively, and have a high adaptability to practical work.", Ms. Huong shared.

As a leading university in research and training in social sciences and humanities for the country, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Thu Huong believes that scientific research must be an important activity in the learning process of the University's students. She gave advice to students: "When choosing any field of study or job, you should pursue it with all your passion, especially for scientific research activities. Scientific research gives us experiences, practical experiences, helping us to become more mature.”.
