Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen (Deputy Head of Faculty of Journalism and Communication)
-Congratulations to you for your efforts in work and career being recognized by the State with the title of Associate Professor last year. Could you share your thoughts on this event??
I feel happy to be attached to and pursue my favorite field of study (Journalism and Communication) and to be awarded the title of Associate Professor (PGS) as a recognition from the State and society for my contributions to this field of study. This result is not only thanks to my personal efforts, but more importantly, the encouragement and support of the Faculty leaders, the School and my wonderful colleagues. It seems that the task is also heavier for me. I always think about what to do to contribute more to the development of the Faculty of Journalism & Communication (BC&TT) and the School.
-Public relations is an industry.learnstill young in the training system at Vietnamese universities, so what are the difficulties?in the construction and development of this field of studywhat worries you the most?
2015 was a challenging year for the Public Relations industry, for me and the Faculty of Journalism and Communications. The biggest concern for those working in the teaching profession is how to invest in future generations, how to help students adapt to the vibrant and complex reality of this profession after graduation.
Recalling the early days of building the Public Relations Department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were many shortages and difficulties, and we had to "recruit talented people" to help build and develop the Department. It was a thorny journey. The Public Relations Department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was still young, so what I cared about most was how to improve the quality of training. And to solve these problems, it was necessary to build two basic conditions: learning materials and lecturers. The curriculum and learning materials on Public Relations were still very limited, and needed to be built from the basics to serve teaching. Meanwhile, the network of training staff on Public Relations was still thin, and also needed to be focused on building and nurturing. They were the ones who would "ignite the fire" in students, "awaken" their desire to learn and their love for the profession.
It is difficult, but I believe that my colleagues and I will do it, because we love this job and aspire to do something for the Public Relations industry, the Faculty and the School. I feel very lucky that in difficult times, I have always received support and help from my relatives, friends, colleagues and beloved students.

- Faculty of Journalism & Communicationtook a new step in developing the Public Relations industry, through the first implementation of the programtraining linkMaster of Communication Managementwith University of Stirling (UK)Is this a good sign?
That's right. This is the first time an international joint training program on "Media Management" has been implemented in the North, which is a success in international cooperation of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and more broadly of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The program will enroll the first class in May 2015. In the integration period, international joint training is a right direction and brings many benefits to Vietnamese universities. Firstly, the university's lecturers have the opportunity to work with foreign lecturers, this is a great opportunity to exchange educational experiences and improve academic qualifications. Secondly, Vietnamese students are the direct beneficiaries when being taught by leading foreign experts with international quality. Thirdly, the reputation of the university in general and the Faculty of Journalism and Communication in particular will also be raised because university rankings all take into account internationalization criteria.
- The Public Relations Department at the School enters its third enrollment season this year. The training process hwho is the first studentWhat does it make you think?
The first batch of students of the Public Relations Department, Faculty of Journalism and Communication left me with deep impressions. Their entrance results were very good, their university entrance exam scores were high compared to the general level of the whole school. But more importantly, the students of the first two batches had a clear orientation about the career they were pursuing. However, the young generation today has many differences from our generation in the past. They are much more open in their activities, clearly aware of the rights of learners and thirst for new knowledge, so they constantly demand that teachers always renew each lesson, be accurate and constantly update their knowledge. This is also an inevitable trend of the 21st century, it is necessary to create a more democratic and respectful environment between teachers and students. Only with the efforts and coordination of teachers and students can the quality of teaching be improved.

- Ever beento studentof KPress flowerand Media, then was retained as a lecturer of the Faculty, of the School, it was a long process of attachment to this school. Which memory is the deepest for her??
2015 is the 70th anniversary of the tradition of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication. I remember the first generation of teachers and students of the Faculty of Journalism, University of General Sciences. I remember the times when Mr. Ha Minh Duc (Prof. People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc - the first Head of the Faculty), Mr. Duong Xuan Son (Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Xuan Son - former Vice Head of the Faculty), Mr. Pham Dinh Lan (former Vice Head of the Faculty) took students to the villages to ask for a meal, to the army companies to exchange. The closeness and attachment between teachers and students was simple but touching. In the early days of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, Mr. Ha Minh Duc even went to each exam preparation center to introduce the Faculty. The impression of him at that time in the mind of a 10th grade student like me was very deep. Our teachers were truly the most dedicated and devoted teachers I have ever known. We have learned a lot from our teachers, especially learning and understanding deeply about the profession of being a teacher. Teaching is a difficult profession and the responsibility is really heavy. If a teacher teaches well, he will help a generation of students find their bright future. On the contrary, if he teaches wrongly, he will contribute to "ruining" that generation. I am extremely grateful and respectful to the previous generations of lecturers. It is the heart and affection of the teachers that are the important motivation for me to contribute more to the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, the school and to my beloved students.
- Thank you for sharing, and I wish you will fulfill your wishes in the new year.
