On September 8, 2013, with the sponsorship of the Toshiba International Foundation, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi will organize an international conference with the theme “Japan in the Asian Age”. This theme focuses on Japan’s position in the context of an increasingly dynamic region with regional powers playing an increasingly important role in shaping and reshaping a “New Asia”. The conference is also an official event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations (1973-2013) and the 40th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan friendship and cooperation.
The conference is a forum for sharing ideas, presentations and research findings, and discussing issues related to the above mentioned topics. We cordially invite you to submit one or more abstracts to the following subcommittees of the conference:
- Japan in the Asian Age
- Asia in the new international context: Asian prospects
- New findings in Asian studies
- Creating a “New Asia”
