Standing Conference of the 5 School Trade Union Cluster

Implementing the work plan for the 2013-2014 school year, the 26th Standing Conference of the Trade Union Cluster of 5 Schools (Hanoi University of Science and Technology, National Economics University, University of Natural Sciences, University of Social Sciences and Humanities and University of Construction) was held in Can Tho City for 2 days (March 27-28, 2014). This year's conference was hosted by the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Construction.

At this conference, delegates focused on discussing the challenges and development opportunities of the Trade Union of the 5 school clusters in the context of implementing the 8th Resolution of the 11th Central Committee on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Party Standing Committee, the Board of Directors and 50 delegates from the 5-School Trade Union Cluster. The delegation of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was led by Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Vice Rector.

Also attending and speaking at the conference were the President of the Trade Union and Head of the Women's Union of Can Tho University.

The conference listened to and discussed the presentations of delegates from 5 schools such as: "Trade Union with the work of propaganda, dissemination and legal education in the context of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training" (University of Social Sciences and Humanities); "The role of Trade Union in improving the quality of teaching staff at University of Natural Sciences"; "The role of Trade Union in maintaining and improving the quality of training at University of Science and Technology"... The conference also listened to delegates from the Trade Union of Can Tho University discuss the operational experience of the Women's Union of Can Tho University.

Through the speeches and discussions, the Union Leadership Board of each school has gained more lessons and experiences to find the most effective solutions in renewing union activities, contributing with the government to effectively implement the movement for fundamental and comprehensive reform of school education in particular and the country's education in general.

At the end of the Conference, the Chairman of the Trade Union of the University of Construction respectfully transferred the right to host the 27th Conference to the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the National Economics University.

Along with the above activities, on March 27, 2014, a delegation of 05 schools visited and exchanged with Can Tho University. Welcoming the delegation were representatives of the Party Committee, Board of Directors and Standing Committee of the School's Trade Union.

Speaking at the exchange, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Thanh Toan, Rector of Can Tho University thanked the Board of Directors and the Trade Union of the 5 schools in Hanoi for organizing this activity. The Rector also introduced some outstanding information of the University in recent times such as achievements in scientific research, international cooperation, quality assurance work, especially the Project"Upgrading Can Tho University into an excellent university in training, scientific research and technology transfer"from ODA capital of the Japanese government.

Also on this working trip, the delegation of the 5-School Union Cluster organized a field trip to Ca Mau Cape and the southernmost point of the country. When arriving at the southernmost point of the country, everyone shared the same emotion, pride and silently promised to always try to fulfill their duties well to contribute to the protection, preservation and construction of the increasingly beautiful Vietnam.
