USSH Cup 2014 and unexpected beginnings

The resounding success of the USSH Champions League 2013 men's football tournament both on and off the field has brought a huge challenge to the Organizing Committee (OC) of the USSH Cup 2014 women's football tournament in order to not disappoint the expectations of the fans. In fact, before the tournament, the BTC had carefully prepared all aspects: establishing the Match Organizing Committee, Secretariat, Communications Committee and Logistics Committee with the main human resources being enthusiastic students. At the same time, the BTC assigned the Communications Committee to design the logo, trailer and promotional photos for the tournament; build communication channels for the tournament on Facebook, Youtube, website tuoitrenhanvan.com; print posters, banners, etc.

On the morning of April 5, 2014, the Opening Ceremony of the USSH Cup 2014 Women's Football Tournament of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU was solemnly held. The ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests: Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Head of Sports Department, Center for Physical Education and Sports of VNU, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Vice Principal, Chairman of the School Sports Association, Head of the Tournament Steering Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - Chairman of the School Student Association, Head of the Organizing Committee; ... with the participation of 16 football teams from 16 Unions - Associations and many students inside and outside the school. The ceremony was also heated up by the exciting cheering performances for the tournament by the Sol Art Club and the Rumbo Cheerleading Club in the school.

USSH Cup 2014 organized by the Youth Union - Student Union of the University, with the media support of Chuoi Studio, will take place from April 5 to May 10, 2014 at C500 Stadium - People's Security Academy every Saturday. 16 teams divided into 4 groups compete in 32 matches, promising to promote the quality USSH Cup women's football brand, creating a useful sports playground for students to unite faculties and departments; connecting generations of students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Right after the opening ceremony, the first round of USSH Cup 2014 took place with 8 matches divided into 2 sessions, morning and afternoon. If in the morning the audience had to witness a drought of goals on C500 field, in the afternoon the matches were more exciting with many more goals. At the end of the first round of the group stage, contrary to many people's opinions, the teams that were rated higher did not achieve the best results. The biggest surprise was that the current runner-up of USSH Cup 2012, Department of Anthropology, lost 0-3 to the newcomer Faculty of Political Science and ranked last in Group A. Meanwhile, the current champion of USSH Cup 2012, Faculty of History, only won 1 point against the team that was rated lower in many aspects, Faculty of Archival Science and Office Administration. Thus, the first round of the group stage left many aftertastes in the minds of the fans. The big teams' consecutive "missteps" predict a USSH Cup season with very difficult results to predict, and certainly from now until the end of the tournament there will be many interesting surprises.
