At exactly 8:00 a.m., thousands of people lined up to see off the coffin of Prof. Nguyen Tai Can to his final resting place. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, formerly known as Hanoi National University, is very proud of Professor, Dr., People's Teacher Nguyen Tai Can, a Party member with more than 60 years of Party membership, who devoted his entire life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. Professor Nguyen Tai Can was one of the leading experts in linguistics in Vietnam. In 2000, he was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize by the State for his works on Vietnamese grammar and history. Professor Nguyen Tai Can passed away on February 25, 2011 in Moscow (Russia) and was buried in his hometown on April 12, 2011.
