Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU emphasized that the conference is a meaningful scientific forum to connect scientists and experts in the field of Vietnamese studies.
According to Dr. Le Minh Chien - Rector of Dalat University, the conference is a forum for academic exchange between units in the field of Vietnamese studies training, opening up opportunities for cooperation, training links, improving the quality of research, training in Vietnamese studies and teaching Vietnamese in the current context. The conference focuses on core topics to continue perfecting the training program framework, solutions to improve the quality of training in Vietnamese studies in an interdisciplinary direction.
With that meaning, the content of the Conference focuses on the following issues: research on Vietnamese studies to serve interdisciplinary training; training in Vietnamese studies at universities; issues of Vietnamese linguistics and methods of teaching Vietnamese.
The conference selected 66 out of 72 papers from researchers from Vietnamese studies training institutions and related fields. The content of the papers shows that research and training in Vietnam is not only urgent, but also a prospect in the current trend of globalization and international integration.
The expert council conducted research, evaluation and careful selection to present 66 full-text reports to the Conference. Hanoi National University Publishing House promptly edited and published all of these reports in a book of proceedings entitled “Research and training in interdisciplinary Vietnamese studies” with 200 A4-size, soft-cover, 822-page copies for the Conference.
In particular, this was originally planned to be a workshop of 04 Vietnamese studies training institutions, but with its significance, influence and empathy from Vietnamese studies training institutions across the country, the workshop has attracted more attention from experts and specialists from Vietnamese studies training institutions across the country such as Hong Duc University, Phu Yen University, Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Duy Tan University, Van Lang University, etc.
Dr. Bui Van Tuan - Deputy Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, assessed that this is a large-scale conference, attracting enthusiastic participation with a deep love for Vietnamese studies from experts, scientists and practical managers.
The Inter-Faculty and Inter-University Scientific Conference with the theme “Research and training in Vietnamese studies in an interdisciplinary direction” was truly one of the most impressive and in-depth events, contributing to raising the level of science, intelligence and position of leading units in the country in research and training in Vietnamese studies.

Summary of valuable scientific issues on research and training in Vietnamese studies
According to scientists, it can be affirmed that this is a conference of high professional quality, addressing both very basic issues and very practical issues of research and training in Vietnamese studies in the context of global development and integration. Many experts believe that there should be specialized conferences to exchange and unify the concept of research and training in Vietnamese studies, in which interdisciplinary Vietnamese studies must be considered a development requirement of modern Vietnamese Vietnamese studies, determining the core contents and main methods of Vietnamese studies, moving towards perfecting the standard framework for training bachelors in Vietnamese studies for both Vietnamese and international students as a basis to overcome the widespread and somewhat arbitrary training of Vietnamese studies in many training institutions today.
In the conference summary report, Dr. Bui Van Tuan - Deputy Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, assessed that the conference "has both a summary and an open nature". This is an opportunity for scientists to provide more scientific data and new perceptions to clarify those outstanding qualities. But it is not that we have understood everything. The concept of a package here is a new step forward in terms of perception, but it opens up new cognitive requirements, new training and research directions, because Vietnamese studies is a science that "studies a Vietnam in its entirety", a science that "studies a land, about the people in that land with all relationships with nature, with history and society in all aspects, highlighting the characteristics and peculiarities of Vietnam", so many issues are arising, there are opportunities, there are challenges. Fully recognizing opportunities and challenges is not simple; there are countless pressing issues that arise daily, hourly, and in the long term that need to be assessed, thoroughly dissected, and then contemplated, recommended, and proposed directions and solutions. There are proposals that are general in nature; there are very specific proposals in each field, on a number of pressing issues that need attention.
The workshop opened up many issues whose value is to create conditions for scientists to continue to develop on a larger scale, with more in-depth content to help training institutions in the field of Vietnamese studies nationwide have scientific foundations to propose policies to implement solutions to develop the field of Vietnamese studies today and tomorrow.
The conference attracted hundreds of researchers and experts in the field of Vietnam studies nationwide.
After the workshop, the Organizing Committee also recommended that leaders of Vietnamese studies training institutions continue to invite international and domestic scientists to organize a number of larger-scale workshops so that the ideas proposed in this workshop will continue to be developed and improved.
In particular, the workshop is the beginning towards building a network of research and training institutions for Vietnamese studies nationwide and internationally; towards establishing the Vietnam Studies Association, and at the same time recommending the Ministry of Home Affairs to build a job position code for the Vietnamese studies major.
Within the framework of cooperation between 04 universities with training in the field of research on Vietnamese studies, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the quality of training and teaching, and enhance the development of applied scientific research in different fields based on the strengths of each university.
