On December 2, 2015, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language and the Faculty of Literature received and worked with Dr. Eva Voldřichová Beránková (Charles University - Czech Republic) to discuss cooperation opportunities.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh shared: USSH is one of the member units of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The University has extensive cooperation relations with universities around the world. The University has signed more than 200 cooperation documents with universities and educational institutions in the region and around the world. To achieve the goal of becoming a research university in the future, USSH wishes to receive more support from foreign partners in interdisciplinary research and training in many fields. Therefore, the Vice President said that the visit of Dr. Eva Voldřichová Beránková is a good opportunity for the University to promote better relations with Charles University - Czech Republic in particular and universities in the Czech Republic in general.

In response, Dr. Eva Voldřichová Beránková said that she was very grateful for the warm welcome and the exchange of cooperation opportunities. She said that cooperation with universities in Vietnam is one of the important goals of Charles University as well as the Czech Republic in general. Therefore, she wants to develop teaching and research cooperation with the University in areas such as Vietnamese Studies, Vietnamese Language and Literature. Student and lecturer exchange is also an important area of ​​cooperation. Specifically, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language and the Faculty of Literature of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be the focal points for cooperation between the two sides. A joint cooperation agreement will be the goal of the two sides in the future.

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh welcomed the proposals of Dr. Eva Voldřichová Beránková and hoped that the two sides would soon put the cooperation ideas into practice. The Vice Rector also suggested a number of activities such as organizing a joint international conference on literature, culture and art of the Czech Republic as well as organizing training and language teaching activities for students of both sides. In particular, the two universities agreed to create conditions for tuition fee exemptions for qualified students studying at Charles University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. These activities will contribute to popularizing and spreading Czech culture in Vietnam and helping to strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in general.

Charles University in Prague is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1348, it was the first university in Central Europe, east of France and north of Poland.IDEA. Charles University is one of the oldest universities in Europe in continuous operation and is ranked among the best universities in the world. It currently has 17 faculties, focusing mainly on the social sciences and humanities, 4 university institutes and centers for education, science, research, development and other creative activities.
