At the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa shared information about the University: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the leading institution for research and training in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam; initially implementing training and research in basic sciences and later developing more highly applicable fields. The University has a Department of Chinese Studies (Faculty of Oriental Studies) along with the Center for Chinese Studies. The University also signed cooperation agreements with many Chinese universities. The Vice President hopes that the two universities can promote cooperation in areas such as Chinese Studies, Vietnamese Studies, Tourism Studies, etc.
On behalf of the host country, Ms. My Le Hong highly appreciated the goodwill of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in welcoming Chinese students to study and research from the 2014-2015 academic year. She said that the six training majors of the Foreign Languages Academy include Vietnamese, so the two schools can cooperate in this field. In addition, Southwest Forestry University offers scholarships such as Confucius Institute Scholarship, Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship, Southwest Forestry University Scholarship. She hopes to welcome Vietnamese students and invites the school's staff and lecturers to visit Southwest Forestry University.

Southwest Forestry University is the only forestry university in western China. Founded in 1938 as the Forestry Department of Yunnan University, the school was officially granted university status in 2010 under the name Southwest Forestry University. The school has 30 colleges, more than 140 majors, including 65 master's majors and 3 doctoral majors. The current teaching and staff team is 1,219, including 477 professors; in addition, there are 61 famous experts and scholars at home and abroad.
