Receiving delegation from Woosuk University (Korea)

On May 4, 2019, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Office of Cooperation and Development received and worked with a delegation from Woosuk University led by Dr. Chang Young-Dal (Rector).

At the reception, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasizing its internationalization strategy and strengthening international relations. The University has established cooperative relationships with more than 400 partners, including Korean universities such as Seoul National University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Busan University of Foreign Studies, and Hanyang University. The University's Korean Studies major is one of the most popular majors among students. Based on the memorandum of understanding signed remotely by the leaders of the two sides on June 8, 2018, the University hopes to promote practical cooperation with Woosuk University.

In response, Dr. Chang Young-Dal, on behalf of Woosuk University, expressed his desire to implement joint training programs according to models such as 2+2, 1+3 with our side. The two schools can focus on majors that both are interested in such as Media Image, Advertising Propaganda, Psychology. In addition, the two sides can cooperate in training Korean and Vietnamese for students of each country.

Rector Pham Quang Minh shared that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Woosuk University both have great interest in the internationalization orientation, including the need to attract more foreign students. At the same time, he expressed his agreement with the proposals of Dr. Chang Young-Dal. In the coming time, the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University will be the focal point for implementing specific cooperation with the other side.

Established in 1979 in Jeollabuk-do, Woosuk University is currently training many majors and focusing on developing 5 areas of expertise: Public Health & Wellbeing, Oriental Medicine, Sports & Health, Culture & Tourism and Welfare & Safety. Woosuk University's educational system includes 8 colleges, 57 departments and 3 graduate schools.
