On October 29, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held a ceremony to award Chung-Soo scholarships from Korea to 80 students with excellent academic achievements, students with difficult circumstances who have strived to study, and students who are union officials with good academic achievements.Attending and awarding the scholarships were Mr. Ha Chan Ho - Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam, Mr. Choi Phillip - Chairman of the Chung-Soo Foundation, Mr. Shin Sung Oh - Member of the Board of Directors of the Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal of the University and representatives of leaders of units in the University. 2012 is the 5th consecutive year that the Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation has awarded 80 scholarships, each worth 250 USD, to students of the University. Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim thanked the Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation for choosing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as one of the first units to award scholarships to students in Vietnam. The scholarship is a great reward, with special meaning of encouragement and motivation for students of the University to continue to strive and strive in studying and training. Mr. Choi Phillip said: Up to now, the Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation has supported more than 40,000 students from countries including Vietnam. The Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation of Korea was established in 1962 by Mr. Park Chong Hee with the aim of nurturing human resources for the economic and social development of Korea. Recently, the Foundation has expanded its support for human resource development in a number of developing countries, including Vietnam.
