That was the affirmation of the comrades representing the Central Youth Union, Hanoi Youth Union and VNU Youth Union when listening to the summary report at the Congress as well as monitoring the activities of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the term 2022-2024.
The Presidium of the Congress
The summary report presented by Secretary Ta Thi Bich Ngoc to the Congress emphasized: The 2022-2024 term took place in a context of fundamental advantages but with many difficulties and challenges: Students' needs are increasingly diverse and rich while the physical facilities serving activities are facing many difficulties and cannot be resolved soon. Digital technology and social networks are changing the way students access information and social connections, creating dispersion in organizing activities in traditional ways. The attractiveness and effectiveness of outside social activities make it difficult to attract students to participate in university activities.
But overcoming those difficulties, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Youth Union has achieved remarkable achievements in all aspects of political and ideological education, education on traditions, ethics and lifestyle, and awareness of law compliance for union members; actively participating in activities launched by higher-level unions, volunteer movements for the community; proactively proposing and implementing many creative activity models, accompanying students in studying and scientific research, supporting union members to proactively integrate internationally; maintaining and innovating the activities of student clubs and teams.
These achievements are reflected in impressive figures such as thoroughly implementing the resolutions of the Party Congress, the Youth Union, and the School's major policies to all Youth Union officials at all levels and 100% of Youth Union members; implementing 53 youth projects at all levels, 09 Warm Winter volunteer teams, 10 Spring volunteer teams and 13 Green Summer volunteer teams, 30 exam season support teams, with nearly 1,000 volunteers participating; successfully organizing 02 Green Torch Student Scientific Research Conferences, organizing 04 school-level sports activities; nearly 10 activities (training, talkshows) to improve digital capacity and entrepreneurship for students.
With the above achievements, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Youth Union has received many collective and individual titles at all levels: The title of Excellent Unit leading in Youth Union work and grassroots youth movements in the 2023-2024 school year from the Standing Committee of the Hanoi National University Youth Union; Emulation Flag of the Hanoi City Youth Union; 01 Certificate of Merit for the Central Youth Union, 07 Certificates of Merit for individuals at the Central Youth Union; 16 Certificates of Merit for the City Youth Union, dozens of collectives and individuals received certificates of merit from the Hanoi National University Youth Union.
To achieve the above achievements, first of all, it is due to: the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, always receiving the attention and direct and comprehensive leadership of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors; the direction and guidance of the higher-level Youth Union; the support and coordination of other units, of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, of the Party Committee and leaders of units, of functional departments; the sharing and comments of teachers, scientists, former Youth Union officials, officials, and workers in the University...
In addition, the team of union members basically has solid political qualities, a healthy lifestyle, intelligence and enthusiasm, is diligent in studying, makes efforts in research, is creative in collective activities and is willing to participate in community activities; most of the union cadres are dynamic, responsible and willing to contribute.
On behalf of the VNU Youth Union, comrade Hua Thanh Hoa sent warm congratulations as well as recognition from the higher-level Youth Union for the achievements and contributions of the VNU Youth Union in the past term. “The professional, creative, modern, humanistic and practical movements of the VNU Youth Union have created a unique color, affirming the role and position of the VNU youth. Many models proposed and effectively implemented by the Hanoi Youth Union have become models for other units to learn from.”
The Secretary of the VNU Youth Union also said: “In the current context, the education sector is facing huge changes, pressure from technological change, strong digital transformation and globalization trends. The goal of VNU by 2030 is to be in the TOP 500 in the world, with a core role, the leading unit in the country in training high-quality human resources, scientific research and knowledge dissemination, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities must also have a strong transformation to contribute significantly to the completion of that goal. Therefore, the Youth Union, in addition to mass activities, needs to focus on professional work, contributing to the completion of the common goals and strategies of the University. I am confident that, with the close attention and facilitation of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the University, the support of leaders, staff in departments and training units; the companionship of partner units; especially the high determination, dynamism, creativity of the Executive Committee, the common consensus With the efforts of all union members, the union activities and youth movements of the School in the coming time will reap even more success".
Comrade Vu Thi Minh Hang and Comrade Hua Thanh Hoa, representing the higher-level Union, presented the "For the Young Generation" Medal to Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan and Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh as a deep gratitude for the attention of the School's Board of Directors for the Youth Union.
To gather union members, lead the union work and youth movement in the coming time, the Congress officially elected the Executive Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Youth Union for the 2024-2027 term with 21 comrades, of which comrade Duong Tat Thanh was elected as Secretary of the school's Youth Union, comrades Dao Tuan Anh and Nguyen Trung Duc held the positions of Deputy Secretaries and 18 members.
The Congress also experienced emotional moments when expressing gratitude to the old Executive Committee and saying goodbye to comrades who had been involved in each activity of the School Youth Union during the past term. Comrade Ta Thi Bich Ngoc - Secretary of the School Youth Union, term XI, represented the old Executive Committee to speak and inspire the new Executive Committee.
Comrade Ta Thi Bich Ngoc presented a small personal gift to 200 delegates attending the Congress as a way to convey her enthusiasm, spirit of readiness to work hard and contribute to the Youth Union movement.
Promoting the power of youth to contribute to creating a modern, integrated and unique Humanities
That is the determination and core goal in the activities of the Union and youth movement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the next term, affirmed in the report on directions and tasks presented by Secretary Duong Tat Thanh to the Congress.
To achieve that core goal, the School's Youth Union determined that it is necessary to continue to affirm the pioneering position of the Youth Union in the school's political system, the leading role in the VNU Youth Union movement, gradually promote the special characteristics of social sciences and humanities in the Youth Union work and youth movements, build a strong Youth Union and adapt well to changes in social life, meet the needs of union members, and actively contribute to the development of the school. The goals have been specified in numbers such as: 100% of the School's Youth Union members are fully aware of the Resolutions of the Party and the Youth Union at all levels, do not violate the law, do not commit social evils, do not violate the regulations on studying and examining, and complete the output standards of the training program; 100% of the Youth Union members are young lecturers/researchers who publish at least 01 scientific article/work each year; Organize 05 programs on political ideology, tradition, and ethics education.
ethics, lifestyle, and awareness of law compliance with at least 3,000 union members participating; Organize 02 student scientific conferences, 10 seminars/training/exchange/training programs at all levels to guide and support students in studying, scientific research and integration; Organize 05 knowledge competitions, academic playgrounds to develop expertise, entrepreneurial skills, digital capacity and foreign language capacity for union members; Organize 10 large-scale Physical Education - Sports, Cultural and artistic activities, etc.; Coordinate the organization of 02 career counseling activities, job introduction, connecting with employers, career counseling for union members; During the entire term, 80 outstanding union members were admitted to the Party; Students achieved the title of 5 good at the Central level, City Union, VNU, etc.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Party Committee Secretary, Principal of the School), on behalf of the school's youth, thanked the Central Youth Union, Hanoi Youth Union and VNU Youth Union for their constant attention, timely guidance, and encouragement. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan congratulated the Youth Union Executive Committee of the last term for successfully completing the tasks of a term with many difficulties and challenges. “I am truly impressed with the achievements that the School Youth Union has achieved in the 2022-2024 term, most of the targets have been achieved and exceeded the set plan. These achievements are due to the consensus of more than 8,000 union members, but first of all, it must be the solidarity, enthusiasm, dedication, and devotion to the common achievements of the term Executive Committee, the very talented and dedicated leadership of Secretary Ta Thi Bich Ngoc. Fully agreeing with the specific direction and targets set by the Congress for the next term, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his wishes and expectations: The Youth Union and the Youth Movement of the University need to promote strictness, methodicalness, professionalism, modernity, closely linked with expertise, supporting students in studying, scientific research, starting a business and establishing a career; innovating methods and forms of operation in a modern, integrated, dynamic direction, contributing to building the youthful color of a traditional Humanities; at the same time, affirming the unique identity of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Youth Union in VNU, in the youth of the Capital.
