Party Congress of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the term 2025-2030: Solidarity - Innovation - Autonomy - Development

The congress was attended by comrade Le Quan - Party Secretary, Director of Hanoi National University, leaders of functional units of Hanoi National University and member universities; Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Party Secretary of Hanoi National University, first principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and former leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities through the periods and 182 delegates from the university's Party cells.   Promoting the 80-year tradition of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities
Taking place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (1995-2025), the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the University of Letters (1945-2025), the 29th Congress has a particularly important significance, summarizing the 5-year working term (2020-2025) and looking back on the three-decade journey of construction and development of the University's Party Committee, thereby setting out the development orientation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the era of national development.

During the 2020-2025 term, the School Party Committee has achieved many achievements in various fields. In particular, the School Party Committee actively led the implementation of political and ideological education through many forms, associated with Party building work, aiming to strengthen solidarity, creating motivation to build and develop the School.
Aiming to build a multidisciplinary, multi-field research university, based on practical requirements, the Party Committee has directed the adjustment and rearrangement of the organizational structure of a number of units to suit the trend and meet the requirements of the University's development in the direction of a research and innovative university.
The Party Committee directs innovation in admission methods, supports learners, improves training quality, meets social needs and international integration; creates high-quality scientific products, strengthens international integration in science, actively contributes to building a research university; expands domestic and international cooperation to develop and enhance the position of the School; diversifies financial resources, modernizes facilities and equipment for training, scientific research, and international cooperation.
In addition, the school has promoted administrative reform according to ISO standards, built advanced university governance, strengthened school discipline, spread the culture of quality assurance; continued to innovate operating methods, promote the role of mass organizations in building and developing the school; enhanced the pioneering and exemplary role of party members and cadres, built strong party cells, promoted the comprehensive leadership role of party cells and the Party Committee over units and the school.

The Congress also frankly acknowledged the limitations, causes of limitations and drew some experiences based on the strategies, goals and tasks set forth by the 28th Party Congress of the School and the practical leadership in building and developing the School in the past term.
In the new domestic and international context, the Congress set out the directions, goals, tasks and solutions for implementation in the 2025-2030 term. Accordingly, the Congress determined to promote the comprehensive leadership role of the Party, promote comprehensive innovation to continue the development of the University in the direction of an advanced research university, affirm professional reputation, enhance its position domestically and internationally, contribute to the development of VNU and serve the country in the era of national development. The Congress determined solutions to implement comprehensive reform, synchronous innovation, build a scientific roadmap, with key priorities in the University's development plan. The adopted slogan for action is "Solidarity - Innovation - Autonomy - Development".

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Le Quan - Party Secretary, Director of Hanoi National University acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to the overall development of Hanoi National University in particular, the national education cause in general; as well as the achievements of the school's Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
To promote the above achievements, comrade Le Quan emphasized the opportunities, challenges and 03 key issues that the Party Committee of the school in the next term needs to direct implementation. That is to prioritize training development associated with autonomy, pioneering in elite training, internationalization and international integration; continue to actively apply science and technology, contributing to solving the country's problems; synchronously and effectively implement Resolution 18 of the Central Executive Committee to continue to innovate, streamline the organization, operate effectively and efficiently.

The Congress listened to 09 presentations on important contents in the school's development strategy in all aspects of activities; discussed, voted and approved the Draft Political Report of the 29th Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
The Congress held a secret ballot and elected 15 comrades to join the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, term XXIX, 2025-2030.
The new Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its first meeting, elected the Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Party Committee Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Party Committee Inspection Committee.
- Comrade Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Chairman of the University Council, holds the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the 2025-2030 term;
- Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan - Principal, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the 2025-2030 term;

+ Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Principal;
+ Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Principal;
+ Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel;
+ Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature.
- The Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term includes comrades: Dang Thi Thu Huong (Member of the Party Committee's Standing Committee, Vice Principal); comrade Le Anh Tuan (Head of the Inspection - Legal Department); comrade Le Van Cuong (Head of the People's Inspectorate). Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong holds the position of Head of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

In his closing speech at the congress, comrade Bui Thanh Nam - Secretary of the Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term emphasized that the voting results on the basic contents of the Report and the targets of the Resolution submitted to the Congress showed the consensus and high determination of the participating delegates; affirming a deep belief in the leadership of the Party, especially the leadership of the Party Committee of Hanoi National University and Party Committees at all levels.
Party Secretary Bui Thanh Nam affirmed that after the Congress, the School Party Committee will develop a program of activities for the entire term, specialized resolutions, and at the same time lead and direct the implementation and implementation of key tasks and targets that the Congress has resolved. For Party cells, it is necessary to proactively organize the study and thorough understanding of the Political Report and Resolution of the Congress, widely propagate the achievements and results of the Congress, arouse the determination, belief, and sense of responsibility of all cadres, civil servants and students towards the Party and the development of the School, and at the same time deploy specific work plans for effective implementation.
Inheriting the precious tradition of the Party Committee of the University, the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, term XXIX, will continue to strengthen solidarity and unanimity, promote the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness and creativity to lead the Party Committee of the University to well implement the Party's policies and resolutions and assigned tasks.
