On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, there were the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Hien, Party Cell Secretary, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang - Deputy Head of the Faculty, Dr. Le Van Cuong - Deputy Head of the Faculty, along with teachers who are lecturers of the Faculty of Literature, who are also students of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky; students of the Faculty of Literature.
Professor Le Dinh Ky (1923 -2009) was a famous talented and erudite teacher, one of the leading scientists in Literary Theory, who worked at the Faculty of Literature - Hanoi University from 1956 -1980. He was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts, the First Class Resistance Medal, the First Class Labor Medal, and the title of People's Teacher. The professor has hundreds of scientific articles and dozens of valuable scientific monographs (The Way to Poetry, The Tale of Kieu and Realism in the Nguyen Du Era, To Huu's Poetry...).
At the award ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang - Head of the Department of Literary Theory (LLVH) was moved to share that exactly one year ago, on April 4, 2023 - the birthday of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky, the Department of LLVH organized a scientific conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth. The conference took place in a serious scientific spirit and with a lot of emotions. After the conference, with the enthusiastic support of Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Khanh Thanh, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Long, the Department of LLVH was proposed by Ms. Ngo Kim Long - the beloved wife of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky to be the focal unit to organize the annual Le Dinh Ky Award at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, in order to continue the path of theoretical research, contributing to the construction and development of a democratic, humanistic and scientific Vietnamese literary theory and criticism.
Fulfilling the family's precious wishes, the Department of Literature and Literature has established an award regulation and awarded 03 students and 02 graduate students with outstanding academic and scientific research achievements to receive the 2024 Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky Award. "The award is a valuable legacy to be preserved, promoted and inspired to study and research for generations of literature students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU" - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang emphasized.

As Ms. Hoang Kim Phuong - representative of the family of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky shared at the ceremony, the Award is the earnest wish of the Professor's family in supporting and promoting excellent students of the Faculty of Literature. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Hien - Party cell secretary, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature said that the Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky Award is the third award of the Faculty of Literature for students and trainees. Previously, the Faculty of Literature annually awarded noble awards: Dinh Gia Khanh Scholarship, Faculty of Literature Scholarship. This is not only material and spiritual support for students and trainees but also the transmission of the academic tradition of the Faculty of Literature preserved and continued through generations of teachers and students.
Recalling the profound memories with teacher Le Dinh Ky, Associate Professor Dr. Ly Hoai Thu - a beloved student of the teacher, was moved: "During the difficult years of the country, teacher Le Dinh Ky wrote elaborate and valuable works of literary theory, always caring and sharing with colleagues and students. It can be said that he was a dedicated teacher, delicate in research and teaching, simple in lifestyle, profound and humane in behavior".
Associate Professor, Dr. Ly Hoai Thu and Associate Professor, Dr. Doan Duc Phuong, students of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky, were extremely moved when recalling precious memories of their great teacher.
Dr. Nguyen Van Nam - former lecturer of the Faculty of Literature shared about the elaborate and dedicated research works of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky - valuable legacies left for future generations.
Nguyen Thi Thao Chi (QH-2021-X class) was moved and proud to receive the noble award from the family of teacher Le Dinh Ky.
Students Nguyen Hai My (QH-2022-X-VH course), Tran Manh Cuong (QH-2020-X course), Nguyen Thi Thao Chi (QH-2021-X course) were honored to receive the Le Dinh Ky award presented to outstanding students.
Student Dinh Thi Thu Huyen (QH-2022-X course) and student Can Thi Huyen (QH-2022-X course) received the Le Dinh Ky award for outstanding graduate students.
Subjects and criteria of the award:
Students and graduate students participating in the Award must meet the following conditions:
For students:
- Students have an average academic score of 3.2 or higher.
- Students do not have any subjects with an F grade during the school year.
- Students have good training scores.
- Priority is given to students who do their thesis/dissertation in the Department of Literary Theory, with thesis/dissertation evaluation results of A or higher.
- Priority is given to students with scientific research who have won awards at the Faculty level in previous years or higher in the subject of Literary Theory.
For graduate students:
- Students with entrance exam scores are valedictorians.
- Priority is given to students majoring in Literary Theory.
Annual Award Structure:
The award of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky was given to the 3 most outstanding students and 1 graduate student who was the valedictorian.
Individuals receiving the award will be granted a Certificate of Award by Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky and a prize of 3,000,000 VND/person.
