Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Vietnam visits and works at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan introduced an overview of the history of formation, outstanding achievements, and key goals in training and scientific research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He emphasized: “The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a core unit of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with a tradition of more than 60 years. The University is focusing its resources to achieve the goal of becoming a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research university by 2035 with a team of excellent and leading experts; developing a number of new training majors and specialties, pioneering a core role in training and research at regional and international levels. To achieve that goal, expanding cooperation in many fields with countries, educational and research organizations around the world is one of the strategic solutions that the University's Board of Directors highly values”.

Brazilian Ambassador Fernando Apparício da Silva expressed his joy at visiting one of the most famous and traditional schools in Vietnam. The Ambassador shared that although the USSH currently does not have an official cooperative relationship with any university or research institute in Brazil, based on the current friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries, in the coming time, the Brazilian Embassy as well as the Ambassador himself will act as a bridge to promote the cooperative relationship, especially in the fields of training and scientific research activities, which are the strengths of the University.

Also at the meeting, Ambassador Fernando Apparício da Silva respectfully invited the Rector and scientists of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to attend the online workshop: “200 years of Brazilian independence: geopolitics from the process of independence and the Brazilian exception”, held on May 11, 2022. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan happily accepted and committed to sending an expert in history and geopolitics to attend the workshop.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan thanked the Ambassador and the Brazilian Embassy for their personal attention to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and hoped that in the future, through the Embassy's connecting role, the University would establish diverse and effective cooperative relationships with universities, research institutes, and educational organizations in Brazil.
