Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 1179/ĐHQGHN-CT&CTHSSV dated April 27, 2021 of the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi on continuing to strengthen the implementation of Covid-19 epidemic prevention; Pursuant to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities requests units to notify lecturers and students of the following main contents:
1. About the training plan
The training plan for semester II, academic year 2020-2021 for undergraduate and postgraduate students of the School will be conducted online from May 4, 2021 until further notice.
2. About online teaching platform
Agree to use the Learning Management System (LMS) with the access address https://ussh.upm.com.vn to organize teaching and learning and manage teaching and learning activities. Lecturers need to build teaching and learning content according to the weekly progress to facilitate the inspection, monitoring and management of the training progress of functional units. In addition, lecturers can combine LMS software with free real-time teaching and learning software such as ZOOM, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet... for teaching and learning.
3. General principles for implementing online teaching and learning
3.1 Teaching content must ensure the following requirements:
- Course information: Conveys information about the course, including at least clarifying the specific objectives of the course, regulations and incentives of the lecturer for students during the learning process, regulations on testing and evaluation as well as formats of exercises or tests, instructions for students to study well in the course.
- Course content: Organize the course content according to weekly topics, closely following the objectives and teaching and learning process of the course.
- Announcement: Provide instructions to students on learning tasks throughout the semester and each week to meet the criteria of promoting students' proactive learning and at the same time serve as a basis for evaluating students' learning attitudes and diligence.
- Course materials: Introduce full information about course materials and provide lectures (files). Encourage lecturers to provide available course materials to students (files).
- Exercises: Assign regular exercises to evaluate students' self-study process.
- Forum: Organize topics for students to discuss on the forum. Have professional measures to ensure students fully participate in the discussion.
- Organize virtual classrooms in real time (Real Time Conference): Real-time teaching and learning activities should be recorded in the form of videos so that students can re-study and facilitate monitoring and management to ensure quality.
3.2 Lecturers are responsible for the content published by them on online teaching and learning platforms and must publicly disclose the regulations on the tasks students must perform when participating in the course.
4. About the form of testing and evaluation
4.1 For the first 7- and 10-week teaching and learning modules, ensuring that the teaching time is sufficient according to the process: The school requests that heads of responsible units unify the assessment and evaluation forms suitable to the current context, and at the same time report to the school on the assessment and evaluation forms of each module before May 8, 2021. The assessment and evaluation must be carried out seriously, in accordance with the output standards of the module.
4.2 For the following 7-week and 15-week teaching and learning courses: The school will base on the development of the epidemic situation and have specific announcements at the appropriate time.
5. Quality assurance
To ensure that online teaching and learning is carried out seriously, systematically, qualitatively and effectively, the School assigns Heads of units, through department leaders and faculty training assistants, to be responsible for urging and supervising the implementation of online teaching and learning of subjects managed by the unit; The Training Department is responsible for managing and supervising the online teaching and learning of common subjects taught by units in Hanoi National University; The Inspection and Legal Department is responsible for checking and supervising the implementation of the Teaching Schedule of units in the whole School based on the Schedule provided by the Training Department.
