Notice of receiving NAFOSTED - FWO applications in 2020

The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) and the Flanders Science Foundation (FWO – Belgium) signed aMinutes of general agreementon the implementation of the Joint Funding Program for bilateral cooperation projects between Vietnamese and Flemish scientists since 2009. The purpose of the Program is to promote active cooperation between Vietnamese and Flemish scientists to solve current, global issues and enhance national scientific research capacity.

Up to now, the Program has undergone 05 funding rounds with a total of 33 topics in various fields in the fields of Natural Sciences and Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities. 2020 is the next funding round within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between NAFOSTED – FWO and has officially received applications since March 2, 2020.

The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development respectfully announces the Program information to your agency and respectfully requests that your agency update the funding announcement (https://nafosted.gov.vn/thong-bao-tiep-nhan-ho-so-dang-ky-chuong-trinh-hop-tac-song-phuong-nafosted-fwo-nam-2020/) on the unit's website so that scientists and research organizations in the unit can easily access information.

More information about the Program is as follows:

1. Program implementation progress:

- March 2, 2020 – May 18, 2020: Announcement of funding and receipt of applications;

- May – November 2020: Evaluation and selection of topics;

- December 2020: Signed sponsorship contract.
