The contest is an initiative of the Thai Embassy in Vietnam, held every 2-3 years with the aim of creating opportunities for Vietnamese students studying Thai to demonstrate their understanding and abilities, as well as promoting students to develop better Thai language skills. At the same time, it contributes to promoting and encouraging the study and research of Thai language for Vietnamese students. The contest is also an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences in learning Thai and share memories and feelings of those who have lived, worked and studied in Thailand, thereby contributing to introducing the image of the country and people of Thailand to the Vietnamese people, raising awareness of Vietnamese students about the friendship between the two countries.

Therefore, the people of the two countries have many conditions to meet, exchange and cooperate closely with each other. Thailand and Vietnam have upgraded their relationship to a strategic partnership. Because of the long-standing close relationship between the two countries, learning each other's languages is an important basis to promote cooperation between the two countries in different aspects. Because education is an important foundation in the development of each country. From the bottom of my heart, I hope that the Vietnamese youth participating in this year's competition will have the opportunity to cultivate and accumulate experience to develop their Thai language skills to help themselves improve day by day.”
