On November 9, 2019, the football tournament "Hoa Lac Project Management Board Football Exchange 2019" (PMU - VNU 2019) took place at the football field of the Foreign Language University Sports Complex (Vietnam National University, Hanoi). The tournament was organized by the Management Board of the Hanoi National University Construction Investment Project in Hoa Lac.

In order to organize the tournament in the best way, in addition to inviting 4 teams to participate in the tournament including: Hoa Lac Alliance, VNU Office, International Faculty and University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Project Management Board invited the Center for Physical Education (VNU) to participate as the tournament coordinator.

Opening match with the Faculty of International Studies

According to the tournament rules, the teams compete according to the rules of 7-a-side football, but each match lasts only 20 minutes. The winning team will get 3 points, a draw will get 1 point and a loss will get no points. The four teams will draw lots and play in a round-robin format, the team with the most points will win the championship.

Awarding the teams

After the opening ceremony, the Men's Football Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had an opening match and drew 1-1 with the International Faculty team. Next, the Team won 3-1 against the VNU Office and in the final match, the Team drew 0-0 with the Hoa Lac Alliance. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities team won a total of 5 points, equal to the International Faculty team, but with a better goal difference. Therefore, the First Prize of the PMU-VNU Cup 2019 was awarded to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities team. The Second Prize went to the International Faculty team, and the Third Prize was awarded to the VNU Office and the Hoa Lac Alliance.

Although it was the first time to organize, the PMU-VNU 2019 tournament was not only successful in terms of expertise but also created a playground for units in VNU to meet, exchange and connect. The Organizing Committee and participating teams expressed their hope that in the future there will be more tournaments on a larger scale, attracting the participation of many other member units in VNU.
