When teachers go to school .... innovation

Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan presented flowers to thank the lecturers participating in the course.

The course is designed and implemented to help the school's staff and lecturers approach innovative thinking and entrepreneurial mindset, thereby creating impetus to innovate teaching and learning methods to adapt to the context of the 21st century. With an entrepreneurial mindset (ready to innovate, create, and adapt to changing situations), staff and lecturers will be the ones to strongly promote the spirit of innovative entrepreneurship for students and create innovations in their current work.

During the first two days of the course, the staff and lecturers learned about creative thinking, entrepreneurial thinking, and design thinking - important thinking foundations for an entrepreneurial educator. In the creative thinking session, the students worked directly with experts from SAP Vietnam - Ms. Josephin Galla and her colleagues. The sessions on entrepreneurial thinking and design thinking were led by lecturers from Hanoi National University and the Ministry of Science and Technology - who completed the VIBE course on Entrepreneurial Educators in 2018-2019, including: Dr. Nguyen Mai Huong, Dr. Hoang Thi Bao Thoa, Dr. Dao Thi Dieu Linh, Dr. Le Thanh Huyen, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu and Dr. Lu Thi Thanh Le.

The course attracts lecturers of many ages to participate.

The first lessons of the course were designed in the form of learning by doing, in which teachers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities went through many different challenges such as drawing brain maps, designing backpacks according to the needs of a “customer” who was a colleague in the group, designing a co-working space for the school using design thinking, etc. In response to these experiences, teachers said that the class conveyed lessons through simple, interesting games and stimulated creativity, teamwork skills, etc. very effectively.

At the end of the first two sessions, students formed project groups to carry out open challenges leading up to the final pitching session – identifying problems and proposing startup solutions related to their field of expertise.

On November 15-16, 2019, students will continue to be trained in intellectual property protection with research ideas and Canva models on innovative startups. In particular, on the afternoon of Saturday, November 16, six groups of students will present their ideas and solutions in the final pitching session. The best ideas of the staff and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities selected at this final pitching session will continue to be supported by the Startup Educators Group to develop and connect with the Project to Support the Innovative Startup Ecosystem of the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2020.

It can be said that the course has "activated" and is expected to contribute to "igniting" the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Not only are the Humanities lecturers very excited about the journey of innovative entrepreneurship educators, but the Board of Directors and departments of the School have always accompanied and given maximum encouragement to the class. A community of innovative entrepreneurship educators is gradually forming at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, contributing to promoting the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among lecturers and students.
