I. Purpose and meaning

  • This is an opportunity for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to promote their professional capacity, intelligence and enthusiasm to contribute to the development of the socio-cultural economy in some localities.
  • Create opportunities for students of the school to exchange experiences in union work and student movements with young people from some localities.
  • Creating conditions for students to be exposed to real life, combining learning with practice contributes to building the right learning motivation.
  • Through the summer youth volunteering to practice political qualities and professional skills, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the Youth Union and Student Association.
  • Meet the need to contribute youth of union members and students to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.

II. Operating principles

  • Promote the spirit of volunteerism of students and the initiative of the Union and Association in organizing and implementing activities.
  • Prioritize volunteer activities related to expertise.
  • Volunteer activities must be safe, practical, economical and effective.

III. Activity content

  • Organize cultural teaching for local students;
  • Propagating and disseminating the Party and State's policies and guidelines and Resolutions of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels;
  • Propagating Ho Chi Minh's ideology in different forms depending on each area of ​​operation;
  • Coordinate with localities to organize activities to commemorate War Invalids and Martyrs Day, visit and give gifts to families with revolutionary contributions, and poor but excellent students;
  • Traffic safety propaganda;
  • Coordinate with local authorities to organize propaganda to prevent social evils;
  • Organize and participate in cultural and sports activities and cultural exchanges between students and local youth;
  • Participate in organizing summer activities for local youth;
  • Organize youth forces to participate in serving the university entrance exam.

IV. Volunteer activity models Summer 2008

1. Activities serving the university entrance exam, supporting the exam season

- Activity content:Participate in supporting the 2008 University Entrance Exam; Participate in activitiesExam supportat the school's admission locations and at bus stations (according to the assignment and direction of the Hanoi Youth Union).

- The core force for this operation is the Assault Team.

- Implementation time: From June 30 to July 10, 2008

- In charge of:Mr. Pham Huy Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union

2. Activities of Clubs, Groups, Teams, and Groups

-Content: Organize free literacy classes (Han Nom and Korean Clubs) in Hanoi.

-Time: From June 20 to August 20, 2008

-In charge of: Mr. Pham Huy Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Member of the Standing Committee of the School Youth Union.

3. Volunteer activities in the direction of the Hanoi National University Youth Union

- Location: Ha Tay province, Hoa Binh province

- Time: From July 15 to August 5, 2008

- Quantity: 07 teams will be deployed to operate in 07 communes (05 communes in Thach That district, Ha Tay province; 02 communes in Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province)

- Organizational form: 05 communes in Thach That district will be assigned to the Union of Youth Unions - Union of Associations of the units to proactively register; 02 communes in Luong Son district will be deployed into 02 teams in the form of: 50 students selected from units in the school (or 01 Inter-faculty team); 01 remaining team will be a combination of students from 03 universities (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Natural Sciences - Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Hanoi University of Construction)

- Implementation: The Executive Committee of the School Youth Union assigned responsibility to comrade Trinh Minh Thai - Deputy Secretary, President of the School's Student Union; comrade Nguyen Mai Lan - Vice President of the School's Student Union to directly direct and implement the content of this activity.

3. Volunteer model of the Union branches - Union branches

3.1. Content orientation

In addition to the above activities, units can register their own specific volunteer model (based on the approval of the 2008 Summer Volunteer Steering Committee). The volunteer model of each unit should focus on the following areas of work:

  • Activities contribute to improving the quality of life in the area, implementing a number of activities such as: promoting the building of a healthy and civilized lifestyle; promoting reproductive health; preventing social evils, environmental protection work; participating in activities of great social significance in the locality (protecting and building local social works);
  • Participate in gratitude activities, help and care for policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged people;
  • Encourage activities related to expertise.

* The School Youth Union Executive Committee encourages inter-faculty volunteer models (with the coordination of 2 or more faculties) related to expertise.

3.2. Operating time: The peak of this activity will take place from July 10 to August 10. However, units can organize volunteer models from the beginning of students' summer vacation.

3.3. Implementation direction: The School Youth Union Executive Committee assigned responsibility to comrade Nguyen Truong Son - Vice President of the School's Youth Union to direct the content of this activity.

4. Students who are not able to participate in these activities will receive summer activity vouchers 2008.(participate in local programs and activities) at the Office of the Youth Union - Student Association of the School from June 10 to June 25. The confirmation form for participation in the locality must be sent to the Office of the Youth Union - Student Association of the School before August 31, 2008.

VI. Implementation progress

1.April and May 2008

  • Develop an action plan and seek guidance from school leaders;
  • Each unit submits a list of student volunteers to the 2008 Summer Volunteer Steering Committee;
  • Completed the 2008 summer volunteer training program for all school volunteers;
  • Develop a plan to seek funding for summer volunteer activities;
  • Meeting to deploy volunteer activities in summer 2008;
  • Complete core student skills training program;
  • Units develop action plans, register to carry out activities, organize advance missions, and seek funding sources.

2. June 2008

  • Continue preparing for summer volunteering 2008
  • Organize training activities at faculty and school levels.
  • Organizing the 2008 Summer Volunteer Campaign (with specific notice to each unit)

3. July, August 2008: Peak activity
