Announcement of the 3rd Vietnam Studies Conference

With the consent of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Hanoi National University and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences will organize the Third International Conference on Vietnamese Studies with the theme “Vietnam: Integration and Development” from December 4 to 7, 2008 at the My Dinh National Convention Center, Hanoi.

The purpose of the conference is to create opportunities for Vietnamese scholars around the world to present their research results and exchange academic knowledge with colleagues, thereby contributing to raising scientific awareness of issues related to Vietnam, especially in the process of integration and development. At the same time, the conference is also an opportunity for Vietnamese and international Vietnamese scholars to meet and discuss in order to enhance research coordination between scholars inside and outside Vietnam.

This is an international scientific conference organized on a large scale (including 19 specialized subcommittees). The Organizing Committee hopes to receive the response of many Vietnamese and international Vietnamese scholars.

- Time to receive registration to participate in the Workshop and submit abstracts from February 20 toMay 30, 2008(durationoldis April 30, 2008).
- Full text submission period is from May 1 to August 15, 2008.
- Time to send official Invitations to participate in the Workshop from September 1 to 30, 2008.

The Conference fee is US$100/1 Conference participant. However, in case scholars are unable to contribute, after formally requesting,The Conference Organizing Committee will consider the form of exemption..
