On September 5, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a reception and admission procedures for new students of the QH-2012-X course. By the end of the afternoon, 1,044 students had completed the admission procedures, reaching 86.28% of the students admitted to their first choice.According to Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs), the reception and admission procedures for new students were not only serious, quick, and in the right order, but also created a joyful and exciting atmosphere for many new students and their families on their first day at the School. However, there are still some students who have not completed the admission process due to lack of relevant documents. These students will continue to complete their documents within 15 days from September 5. The admission period for new students who are admitted to the School's second choice is expected to take place in mid-September.

Mr. Pham Quang Vu (Deputy Head of Student Affairs and Cooperation Department) said that after the admission ceremony, the school will quickly proceed with the selection steps to award scholarships to first-year students. Currently, student Vu Thi Cam Tu (Faculty of Journalism and Communication), the top student of block D, class QH-2012-X, has been selected to represent the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to receive the Hoa Trang Nguyen award in 2012 for valedictorians, excellent students of universities, excellent students of high schools and students who won medals in international competitions nationwide. This year, new students of class QH-2012-X also have the opportunity to receive 10 scholarships from the Kumho Asiana Vietnam Scholarship and Culture Fund for the 2012-2013 school year for students with high entrance exam scores and students in difficult circumstances.
