A scientific workshop with the theme “The impact of the entire urbanization process on rural development: practices and lessons learned” was held on November 30. A scientific workshop with the theme “The impact of the entire urbanization process on rural development: practices and lessons learned” was held on November 30. The workshop is part of the independent state-level project “The impact of the urbanization process on rural development in the period 2011-2020” chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Ba Thinh.At the workshop, experts and scientists discussed practical issues and lessons learned from the urbanization process affecting the development of rural areas. Prof. Dr. Trinh Duy Lam (President of the Vietnam Sociological Association) mentioned the modernization process and values ​​in Vietnamese families. Prof. Dr. Trinh Duy Lam said: under the influence of many factors, including the processes of industrialization, modernization and urbanization, family issues are becoming more diverse and complex. Typically, there is an increase in personal factors, personal values ​​and interests, and more openness and looseness in family relationships. Based on survey data in two communes of Tien Du district - Bac Ninh, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Ba Thinh (Director of the Center for Population, Environment and Social Issues Research) discussed the impact of the urbanization and industrialization process on many aspects of rural life, raising issues that need to be resolved, including capacity, policies, regimes and funding for the village and commune management team. Therefore, taking care of building a team of commune and village cadres with sufficient qualities and capacity - an important factor for the cause of new rural construction, needs to be identified as a regular, immediate and long-term task in the revolutionary cause of the Party. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quy Thanh (Deputy Director, Institute for Education Quality Assurance, VNU) pointed out cultural changes in rural areas under the impact of the urbanization process: changes in village spatial architecture, changes in relics, beliefs, festivals, changes in relationships in the village; Transforming the village management system, transforming the form of information access and entertainment. The topic "Impact of urbanization on rural development in the period 2011 - 2012" with a duration of 2 years surveyed the impact of urbanization on rural development in 10 communes in 5 provinces and cities: Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, with a sample size of 3000 representatives of rural households. Up to now, the sub-topics have completed thematic reports and organized seminars. The first scientific conference was held on August 25, 2011 in Hanoi, scientists discussed theoretical issues related to urbanization and rural development. The second workshop, with the theme “Impact of urbanization on rural areas in the Southern region” was held on September 8, 2011 in Ho Chi Minh City, discussing the aspects of change and development of rural areas in the Southern region under the impact of urbanization. Currently, the topic has published 16 articles in journals: Sociology, Philosophy, Social Sciences, Human Studies... along with a number of reports at domestic and international scientific conferences.
