Training on "Data analysis and application using SPSS, R software"

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Rector of University of Social Sciences and Humanities delivered the opening speech of the training course

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Rector of the University shared about the importance of training activities to improve professional skills in teaching and research for the teaching staff. This activity is increasingly interested by the University in the context that VNU chooses to innovate teaching activities as the focus in innovating and improving the quality of training in the coming school years. Accordingly, the capacity of the teaching staff is a decisive factor in the quality of training and research. With that orientation, in the past time, the Department of Organization and Personnel has advised, proposed and helped the University organize many training courses for lecturers with diverse topics on research methods in Social Sciences and Humanities, international publication experience, how to write scientific articles, quantitative analysis in Social Sciences and Humanities, application of data analysis software in research... The Rector asked the teachers to promote creativity in the classroom, applying the most updated knowledge in research to professional activities.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh (Faculty of Sociology) is the lecturer of the training course.

The training course on data analysis and SPSS software application is divided into 02 basic and advanced classes taught by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh (Faculty of Sociology) and Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Luot, with the participation of 70 lecturers. In which, the basic class takes place in 3 days, from August 2-4, 2019. The advanced class takes place in 3 days, from August 9-11, 2019.

SPSS is a statistical software used in social research, especially in psychology, marketing and sociology. SPSS provides a data management system and statistical analysis capabilities with a user-friendly interface in a graphical environment, using descriptive menus and simple dialog boxes. SPSS helps scientists process and analyze data, find causes, and predict trends in research.
