Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim emphasized: The Conference was organized by the Department of Political Science of National Taiwan University in the context that Vietnam is actively preparing to summarize the basic and typical achievements after 30 years of implementing the renovation process. And in China, since implementing the reform and opening policy from 1978 to now, China has also achieved many important results. However, after more than 3 decades of rapid development, China has been facing many significant challenges in all aspects: Politics, economy, society, culture, etc. This is the first international conference between the two leading universities of Taiwan and Vietnam, an effort of the leadership and experts to contribute to clarifying and solving some aspects and issues in the reform and opening up process over the past 3 decades in Vietnam and China.
