On November 14, 2013, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector) had a working session with the representative of Lund University (Sweden), Professor Bo Göransson (Project Director).
In 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in the Project of training and fostering leaders and managers abroad of the Central Party Organization Committee (Project 165) with the Master's program in Science and Technology Management in conjunction with Lund University. In 2012, the first 36 students received their graduation certificates. The training quality of the program was highly appreciated by the Management Board of Project 165. This is also one of three training programs selected by the Management Board of Project 165 to continue implementing the second course, expected to start in early 2014.
At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim expressed his appreciation for the capacity of the team of professors and scientists from Lund University participating in teaching in this joint program. Through this, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and its Vietnamese staff and lecturers have learned a lot of experience in educational management and science and technology management from the other school. Vietnamese students have the opportunity to study an advanced, world-class training program right in Vietnam. In particular, through international training joint programs with prestigious partners, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities accelerates the process of internationalizing training programs, improving training quality and integrating with the world.
Professor Bo Göransson said that Lund University lecturers have gained valuable teaching and research experience after participating in the above joint project. The program has ensured training quality, training progress and met many other strict criteria of the Project as well as of Lund University.
Representatives of the two units also affirmed the potential and open cooperation prospects between the two schools, and agreed to promote cooperation in many other areas such as coordinating the implementation of short-term training courses on public policy, public management, hotel and tourism management, etc.; participating in research on innovation in science and technology system management, etc.
